NUSTEP RB8 Recumbant Bike gets 3 Stars From Us
This bike gets 3 stars, or half the available stars, because the bike is only "half done". We understand its a new product & perhaps the plan is to complete the electronics & application at some future point via updates, but right now this $5K bike is only "half done", but we paid full price. We can say the mechanicals are the strong point. Mechanically, this is a wonderful bike. It's solidly constructed and can be adjusted to comfort of different riders. It has a very nice, large, display. Seat is excellent! Mechanically it's a perfect product in many ways. The missing half is the electronics. Electronically it's very rudimentary and obviously built for a stepper or treadmill. The controls have nothing to do with what is needed to control a bike. The "heart rate" grab handles do not work at all. Saving data via the USB port does not work. The phone app is rudimentary at best & causes the display screen programs to randomly "lock up". The bike programs & displays are very rudimentary & as said, are geared for footwork and not peddling. As indicated, this machine is full price, but is only "half done". The bike electronics are mostly useless, and you will need to use much more useful & robust 3 party apps on your phone to track your performance data, rather than using the NuStep's RB8 Recumbent bike's electronics & apps. Surprising this product was released only "half done".
