Well worth the money, nice knife
Very handsome knife. The blade is long and thin, while it's good quality, don't use it for the heavy stuff - the blade will likely break. On the other hand, people will want to look at it.

Excellent quality,great price
This fruit knife is impressive right out of the box! It is beautiful, the fit and finish is well done.the knife folda out,but does not lock although it has strong hinge will not close easily thus being relatively safe from closing on your fingers. The blade is stainless steel, which will not rust if you clean and dry immediately after use. It cuts fruit like a dream. I bought two, one for fruit, the other I use as a letter opener. I am completely satisfied t my purchases .

Good value
I like the knife. Mine is well constructed for the price point. Complaint: Mine is quite difficult to open. It is tight in the hinge point, which is good in that it has no locking mechanism. However, the very narrow blade offers very little to pinch with thumb & index finger to open the knife. This is the only knife I’ve ever owned that did not have a thumbnail groove to assist with the opening of the blade. A thumbnail groove would be another step in the manufacturing process, but it would be a welcome addition to this otherwise good and unique knife. With any luck, mine will loosen up over time and be easier to open. I would not find it useful in an emergency.

Great knife, cheap enough for a stocking-stuffer
I bought this as a "apple cutter", something utilitarian I could add to my EDC without spending a lot. I was amazed at the feel of this knife! It has a very good weight and balance, fits my hand quite well, and is very attractive to boot. The craftsmanship is excellent. The word scales are well-shaped and fit the body of the handle perfectly. The blade is straight with a nice thick back, and folds into the handle just the right amount. I think the wood is pakka, and the blade steel is 420 stainless (SS420, magnetic martensite). It arrived sharp and ready to use, but say some point I'll tune it up a bit.

Can't believe how nice!
I can't believe how good this inexpensive knife looks. I was not expecting much because of the price but was pleasantly surprised at how nice the wood color stands out and compliments the metal bolsters. However, don't pay this price and expect Case workmanship. Upon very close inspection is obvious that the knife is not a piece of intricate workmanship. Yet, the materials and design just all pop out as pleasant and balanced. You just have to see it to know what I mean. You'll like it. This is certainly not a work knife. The point narrows into a very thin and sharp point. It looks awesome opened; sleek and menacing. It would be something that you might use as a letter opener or as the title states for cutting fruit. It would be a great knife to carry when you are dressed up. It would be complimentary to your nice attire. This knife would look great in a showcase collection. It is small enough to carry in your pocket comfortably. I will definitely be buying more of these if the price stays right.

Goofy little knife.
What do you expect for $8 bucks? Cheap metal cheap wood. It's more novelty than anything. Sure it's pokey but that's about it. I could bend this blade with my bare hands. It's small so don't be fooled.

Stay away from this one.
The backspring on mine was extremely weak in the open position. No snap at all. Just absolute mush. It does close completely unlike in some other reviews. The problem lies within the grind of the blade where it meets the spring. They ground the "open" area so it's too rounded. Nothing for the spring to hold on to. If you were to try to slice an apple, the blade would start to close upon withdrawal on the first slice due to friction between the blade and the apple. The other side of the blade has a similar problem when the tip remains exposed as other customers have found. Diagnosis... This knife suffers from acute floppy blade syndrome! On another note, the knife is not buffed to removed the sharp edges from the manufacturing process. While protruding during the swing of the blade, the edges on the backspring are quite sharp and can actually cut your fingers if they should happen to slide along it. Also, the bolsters are quite sharp on the inside edges as you run your fingers over the knife. I don't like a knife that doesn't feel smooth when you run your fingers over all of the edges. It's obvious to me, that this particular company employs unskilled, inexperienced labor to assemble their product. This is a very unrefined knife. The price is no excuse. Spend $8 more and get yourself a Rough Rider Toothpick. You'll end up with very nice budget knife.

nice slip joint knife!
I like my pocket knives, and I've carried one in my pocket since cub scouts in the 70's. This elegant & slim Spanish Fruit Knife is a classic slip joint, and here it is pictured next to my Stag Barlow Jack-knife from the mid-80's. It does a great job living up to its name and will slice up your banana or strawberries like nobody's business.
