The journey to 100 friends begins with a single conversation. Socially anxious high school student Shoko Komiโs greatest dream is to make some friends, but everyone at school mistakes her crippling social anxiety for cool reserve. Luckily she meets Tadano, a timid wallflower who decides to step out of his comfort zone in order to help her achieve her goal of making 100 friends. Komi is in her final year of high school, and that means sheโs running out of time to achieve her goal of making 100 friends! She starts off strong on the first day of classes, but a cynical new classmateโs bitter outlook soon sparks a school-wide battle royale. Can Komi make a new ally in the trenches, or will pessimism win the day? Review: Great Series!! - Buying for family members who races about the storyline. Third Year
Volume 25 of Komi Can't Communicate continues the story of Shoko Komi, a shy high school student, and her longstanding quest to make 100 friends before finishing high school. In this volume, Komi and her friends start their third year of high school and, to kick off the new school year, participate in a school-sanctioned battle royale to win prizes. This particular volume contains chapters 325 to 336 of the story. As with all of the volumes in this series up to this point, the artwork continues to be top-notch and enjoyable to look at. As is usual, all of the characters are expertly drawn and are very expressive. There is never any doubt what kind of emotions and feelings that the characters are going through. However, the story itself in this volume was weak. As mentioned above, most of this volume is taken up by a battle royale which, in my opinion, was much less interesting than I think that the mangaka thought it would be. This issue is compounded by the fact that he chose to introduce a slew of new characters at the beginning, as Komi is in a new homeroom, and many of these are involved in the battle royale. It comes off as difficult to follow and just not very engaging. An exception to this is a part in the middle where Komi, who now speaks regularly, is forced to assert herself and perhaps discovers that not everyone can be her friend. It was an interesting piece of character development. Overall, this volume was a mixed bag for me. The battle royale plot just did not engage me very much and I honestly felt that this volume was one of the weakest in the series so far. Still, I would recommend it to those who are fans of the series looking for the next part of the story.

Laser tag(ish)
What a funny and brilliantly written/drawn volume, a giant game of "capture the flag" with nurf guns among the entire student body.
