Sebastian Professional Craft Clay has been my trusted hair product for over 10 years, and I honestly wouldn’t use anything else. I’ve got short blonde hair, and this gives me the perfect texture and hold without looking greasy or overdone. It’s easy to work with, lasts all day, and has a natural matte finish that keeps my style looking sharp but effortless. I’ve tried other products now and then, but nothing compares. I've been using this clay for about a year now and can't fault it. I tend to use it on dry hair and it gives my hair a textured, matte finish. Even on damp hair it doesn't look greasy, which is something I found using other hair products. It gives it a really natural finish. The hold factor is great, the best I've had with clay by far. It will stay more or less the same all day, even in strong winds (although my hair is fairly short). It's not like concrete though, it's extremely pliable and you could change your style throughout the day without needing to reapply should you wish. The smell is subtle and really only noticeable up very close, I like the smell and I've had a few people randomly say my hair smells nice - which is always good! Top marks from me and will continue to use.

gives great hold to your hair

For a Sebastian product, and the cost, I am disgusted with the quality of this item. It is such a hard consistency you cannot remove it from the tub. I had to use a knife to even get through it. Tried to return as defective but return policy did not accept its return. Will not be purchasing any further items from Sebastian.

After using Sebastian Form Craft Clay, I have a few observations to share. The product, known for its styling prowess, offered a somewhat mixed experience. I usually appreciate a subtle fragrance in my styling products, but this clay barely had any aroma, making the application experience less engaging than I'm used to. The texture of the clay is somewhat heavy and can be a bit tricky to work through the hair. This might be a deterrent for those who are new to using hair clays or have finer hair, as it can feel a bit overwhelming and may lead to a weighed-down appearance. In terms of the finish, the clay does offer a nice matte look, which is a positive if you're aiming for a natural, non-shiny style. However, this alone doesn't quite make up for its other shortcomings. The pricing feels a bit high given the overall performance. While the brand is known for quality products, the value proposition is somewhat diminished by the average hold and lack of a pleasing scent. Overall, I'd rate the Sebastian Form Craft Clay a 3 out of 5. While it does provide a matte finish and is workable for basic styling, its average hold, lack of fragrance, and heavy texture make it a product that might not meet the needs of those looking for a strong, lasting hold with an enjoyable application experience.

This is by far the best product I've used for my hair, and I've stuck with it for nearly 5 years. Slightly more expensive than other products like it, but lasts me around 6 months so the cost is not an issue. If the cost is slightly daunting I'd advise you to splash out to see the difference between standard products from the supermarket and this; you won't regret it. The clay holds my hair in place whilst maintaining volume as a consequence of only having to use very little of product with every use. Because it's oil based you'll have to wash it out with shampoo but it comes out very easily, unlike other products such as Dax Wax.

I've been using this since 2006 or earlier. I'm so glad they still make it and that this one has NO ADDED FRAGRANCE. :) I've bought it in the UK, in Hong Kong and in Japan - it suits all those climates. (Synthetic fragrances can be toxic and make me feel sick. Even if they didn't, this product is still better than any other waxes I've tried; I think they do have another one in the range with fragrance and a slightly different composition/effect.) I'm a woman and it gives my short (pixie), straight, fine-to-medium texture hair just enough texturisation without looking stringy, greasy or overly loaded with product. I only use a little and it goes a long way. Even when my hair is a little longer, I drag a tiny bit through for some separation or to make my fringe behave. People complain about how sticky it is - I use REALLY little and only on my fingertips, and I wash my hands immediately after (before I even put the lid back on, or you will see it get build-up). I have never found an issue with it making my hair feel gross or coming off on bedding/clothes, but I do only use a little. I am really glad this is on Amazon because I couldn't find it where I live. I tried another product, which sucked, and spurred me to look harder for this one.
