I don't know why I struggled with a knife for so long!! I wish I'd bought this year's ago. I always dreaded leveling cakes because I just couldn't get it straight. Since getting this cake leveller, I've had no problems whatsoever. I've used it on a light genoise and on a denser chocolate cake and I get perfect results everytime. What works for me is holding the wire against the cake and then making small sawing motions back and forth, with the legs on the table to keep the level consistent. I take my time and I keep the cutting movements small and steady. This wire doesn't have 'teeth' like on a knife. I can only describe it as being wavy. It's a sturdy, well made product, but obviously with the wire being thin, a certain amount of care is needed. I definitely recommend this if you want an easier life!

Good for levelling cakes, although you might need to make a little cut with a knife to make it go through straight.

This product is getting a lot of unfair criticism, I expect that respectfully the negative users aren’t quite sure how to use , it is mentioned on the packaging though on a side note there ;) It’s an amazing addition and actually I’d go as far as to say it’s an essential addition! You don’t pull through the cake ! Oh no no no ! 😂 would you do that with a knife? Course not! Lol You gently move side to side in a sawing motion and the slightly serrated cheese wire moves effortlessly through the cake! Both of these cakes were made yesterday using it and I divided 2 deep cakes into 4 equal layers! So happy with this purchase! Thank you for making my life easier 🙏💕

I purchased this a couple of months ago and as I’m a home baker who enjoys making celebration cakes I was nervous of using it going off the mixed reviews but today I was making an Easter cake for the house so I wasn’t too worried if it didn’t go right when I used it I can honestly say I shouldn’t of worried it was so easy to use with perfect results as long as you keep the feet in contact with the work bench at all times and move it side to side slowly you will get brilliant results I cut 4 layers in the time it would usually take me to cut 1 using a knife and it was perfectly straight and I know all layers are the same size I definitely won’t be using a knife again I would 100% recommend this product and as usual delivery was quick to

After about 7-8 months the string got loosen up and I had to buy a new one

This cake slicer does produce nice even cakes but it can be a bit fiddly to use. Starting the cake off is the hardest part, where it can take a huge piece out of your cake if you’re not careful. I found if you start it off really slowly and when you’ve made the first slice, hold the top of the cake while you move it back and forth. I found you had to hold the cake where the slicer is going to come out from otherwise you might risk losing another piece coming out of your cake. This is a bit of an issue as I didn’t really want my hand being sliced with the wire. You can change the setting on it to the height you need. It is a little tricky and I was worried I was going to hurt myself. The wire is so taut, it’s hard to get leverage on it safely to change the setting. There is a knack however! If you hold the cake slicer in front of you lengthways with the side you want to change the setting on against you.. hold the top with one hand and with your index finger and thumb, push the wire away from you. This takes it out of its notch and allows you to move it to the setting you need without fiddling near the wire. I did manage to get even cakes without any injuries. It is a little annoying to store as it’s quite bulky. You don’t want it somewhere there could be an accident so I’ve had to store it on top of the kitchen cupboards.

No me lo esperaba para nada, pero me he llevado una grata sorpresa. Es enorme! sirve para tartas de 33cm. Es muy suave al cortar aunque a veces hay que insistirle un poquito. Como mejora: un poco más de tensión y un mango algo más cómodo de usar. Cumple su función a la perfección por eso! Creo que no encontrarás nada mejor en esta medida y por este precio.

Je me débrouillais toujours pour faire cuire plusieurs gâteaux et ne pas à avoir à les découper... Maintenant c'est fini, je gagne un temps fou et le résultat est parfait à chaque découpe. Prix raisonnable, semble de bonne qualité, bonne taille. Il suffit simplement de régler la hauteur du fil, et scier le gâteau en gardant bien les pieds de la trancheuse sur le plan de travail.

Da ich diesen Tortenschneider schon seit einiger Zeit benutze und einfach genial finde, hatte ich ihn nun noch einmal für eine Freundin bestellt. Die Qualität ist wirklich super. Am Schneidedraht befinden sich kleine Zähnchen - damit schneidet sich der Tortenboden wie Butter, die abgerundeten Plasikenden gleiten dabei über die Arbeitsplatte. Die Verstellbarkeit des Drahtes ist durch die Einkerbungen ganz einfach und es verrutscht nichts. Mein Schneider sieht trotz der vielen Benutzung immer noch aus wie neu - zum Schutz des Drahtes kommt er bei mir immer wieder in die Originalverpackung.

Arrivato ben imballato. Taglia benissimo il pan di spagna. Finalmente dei dischi perfetti. È facilmente regolabile.
