Received okay but once I’ve been charged a few times, they degrade quite quickly

I purchased a Black and Decker hoover and even though that product a great, I did not buy it from Amazon; I felt that it needed and spare battery and so I was able purchased one from Amazon and it works great.

I bought this as a spare for my 18volt drill. Ordered and delivered with no issues. Charged it when I received it and then popped it in the kit case for the drill once charge was complete. The standard charger for this battery from Black and Decker is pathetic and will take 24 hrs to charge the battery fully. A 1 hour charger is available which I will buy next year. I bought the drill and battery for a project I have next year and although this is not tradesman quality it will do what I need and last me for at least the rest of my years. I have stored the battery in the house over winter as they do not like the cold and will lose life if stored in cold conditions in the shed or garage.

Good battery life easy to use

The battery itself is fine and a marked improvement on the 1.5ah battery that came supplied with my drill. My problem is the pricing. By the time you've added one of these batteries, and a fast charger to replace the woeful trickle charger supplied with the drill, you could have got yourself something much better in the first place (Makita, Dewalt, Hitachi). Black & Decker's strategy seems to be to entice you in with a cheap tool, then charge you top dollar (comparable Milwaukee batteries are cheaper) for accessories that should have been included in the first place. So, if you happen to be reading this review prior to buying a B & D tool, my advice would be to add £50-60 to you budget (the cost of this battery plus charger) and see what else is on offer in that price range.

I was trying to purchase the Lithium ion phosphate battery that would replace the 12V battery of the Black + Decker drilling machine, but unfortunately it is totally different from that of the machine. Since It has the USB port I thout of using it for other purposes but now the problem is to charge it since it is very difficult to get the charger which is compatible with this battery.
