Feliway Friends Cat Calming Pheromone Plug-In Diffuser Refill, 1 Refill

With several cats sharing the house, personalities don't always align perfectly and there can occasionally be a bit of tension between them. I've found FELIWAY Friends useful for helping create a calmer environment in the areas where they spend most of their time together. It's incredibly simple to use – screw the vial into the diffuser, plug it into a suitable socket and then essentially leave it to do its thing. There's no noticeable fragrance to us and nothing that needs spraying directly onto the cats or their bedding. Obviously you can't sit and watch a plug-in diffuser working, and cats will still be cats, but we've noticed things generally seem a little more settled between them when we're using it. It's not some magical switch that suddenly makes every cat best friends, but anything that helps take the edge off occasional friction is welcome in our house. The 30-day duration is convenient too, as once it's plugged in there's very little to think about until the refill needs changing. We've used FELIWAY products before and had a positive experience with them, and Friends makes particular sense when you've got multiple cats living under the same roof. If only they made one that could negotiate whose turn it is for the favourite sleeping spot!

This does seem to be working. I, against my better judgement, acquired a new cat (already have 3 others). He was a sad, dirty and neglected little fellow who decided to chance his arm at my place despite not getting the warmest of welcomes from my resident cats. I had intended that if this didn't work out and my own cats were too stressed or unhappy by his being here I would have to try to rehome him. Before Feliway Friends there was a lot of tension although it stopped short of actual fisticuffs. We had staring and hissing. Previously contented cats would come in through the catflap and as soon as they got a scent/sight of the newbie would go back out again. My most affectionate and sweetest cat stopped wanting to sit with me and became more reserved. There was even some redirected aggression between the two females. It was awful, I felt I'd inflicted this situation on them and made them all unhappy. I had tried Feliway some years ago when I got a second cat and it did seem to work (very little tension for only a short time and then both cats became very at ease with each other and lived out their lives very happily together). I saw an advert for Feliway Friends in Your Cat magazine (I used to have a preconceived notion about the kind of people that buy these magazines until I bought it myself - if you are a cat lover and haven't ever read it I'd highly recommend it, its really good). Anyway I thought I'd give it a try, ordered it from Amazon a couple of weeks ago - at that stage it was so new there were no reviews and I really like my reviews before I buy. After a day two I noticed some changes, if not total peace and harmony. The new cat, who is only about 7 months, seemed to respond most strongly. Maybe because he is still a kitten, I don't know. Several times I have seen him licking/cleaning the foreheads of two of the others. Lots of nose to nose greetings and tail hugs. There is still the occasional hiss from one of the older cats but much less and it is only a week since I plugged the thing in. Its hard to know whether things would have worked out in the end anyway without the Feliway Friends but things could just have easily escalated into an all out cat from hell scenario so on balance I think it is the Feliway which has eased things. Also the new cat was neutered a fortnight ago so I think that also has helped. There is a good advice on the Feliway website for helping your cats to get along. Feliway is a effective tool but it is not a magic wand.

I really think this works. I was introducing a rather stroppy 11 year old boycat to my resident rather timid senior cat recently. I watched the Jackson Galaxy videos, read up about it and generally stressed myself right out. I was fearing the worst, imagining fights and weeks of disharmony. Got this plugged in and put up a mesh door screen from Amazon to let them see each other without touching ( a godsend). It all went very smoothly. Resident cat showed no fear at all. We had a couple of hissy fits from new cat but no fights at all and, within 2 weeks, they were chasing each other around playing. They will never be best buddies but they are quite happy in close proximity to each other and sometimes sit with each other if it is a bit cold. I don't know, maybe they would have been ok without but I do believe Feliway Friends has had a positive effect. The cats do like to sit near it so I believe it may be soothing and reassuring. I am keeping one plugged in for now, I also got the Feliway Optimum to keep things ticking over until I am confident that they are both settled. All in all a good purchase.

I know the Feliway products work for some cats because I have read so many reviews and articles. Even my vet recommended them. So I tried the basic Feliway first to try soothe my kitty who is a little anxious we 'THINK' because of other cats outside in our street. He's our only cat, young adult male who has developed a reoccurring UTI due to stress. (however, I kid you not he is the most spoiled rotten little fluff all who is curled up in my arms as I write this review). But unfortunately I haven't noticed any changes in his anxiety behavior at all with the basic diffuser or this one. We placed the diffuser in a well ventilated spot but again... No change whatsoever which I am gutted about (I even bought the spray which I use on our sofa). I won't give this a bad review even though It hasn't worked for my little Freddie because as I mentioned earlier - from reading many reviews and vet recommendations I'm pretty sure they do work... But maybe on certain cats? Some cats it may work with and some perhaps not. Or my little Freddie is just a very (very) special case! But after purchasing it three times... They aren't cheap and I don't think I'll purchase another however much I wish it would work. But postage has always been quick and well packaged with instructions!

Introducing new pets to each other can be hard. I did my research and thought I’d give these a go and yes they did help. Well it appears they did. My little Madame settled and all is well.

Helped calm my cats. No odour. They hardly fight now and they used to fight all the time. Thank you Feliway.

I have two sibling cats who are mostly frendly with each other but can get pretty feisty on occasion. I have been using Feliway Optimum for a while,but decided to try Feliway Friends for this particular problem. It's not 100% successful, but does seem to have reduced conflict to just once in a while.

Amazing product when there are a few cats children and they're not on their best behaviour. This product is a wonder! It works within an hour and where ever it's placed the cats are happy, content purring and sleeping next to each other. See them in a room without this and they begin well, cat fighting, again. I am truely amazed and very grateful this exists. Smart person whom ever thought of and developed this. 5 stars yes!
