All the reviews mention large books - would it work just as well with single sheets?** A: If you take a look at the dimensions of the holder the max height is 24.5cm. An A4 page is standardised at 29.7cm. Therefore, if it is a single (or few pages), it is likely that you may have difficulties in keeping it in place. However, if you are talking about multiple pages together, it is likely to hold itself straight. **Q: Would a video game walkthrough (say 500+ pages, hardback) fit in this?** A: I've no idea what the dimensions of your book are, so I tried some of my large tomes for size. My large format hardback art book of 760 pages stood up fine on the stand even though it is taller and wider than the stand and I could even use the retractable clips at the bottom to hold the pages open. This book is 1 1/4" thick when closed, 12 1/2" tall and about 20 1/4" wide when opened. I tried a different type of book. This time 2 1/4" thick when closed, 9 1/2" tall and 13" wide when open and 620 pages. This was ok and the clips just about held the pages open at the end of the book. The stand is made of plastic but is fairly sturdy. Treated with care it should be o.k. for you. I am always careful when I press the lugs into the slots at the back to hold the stand open and also when I fold it up. The description is a little misleading. You cannot change the height of the back support, only the angle, by placing the lugs in different slots. Nevertheless, it does support heavy books of a large size as you can see. It has rubber feet so it doesn't slide about. I hope you will find this helpful. **Q: is this good to hold open large hardback cookbooks?** A: not really - I have difficulty keeping some library books open o the little stays are not spring loaded. **Q: Hiya, what is it made of? thank you** A: Hiya it's my daughters and she uses it for homework books. It's made of thick plastic but she said it's very strong once put together. Packs away flat so doesn't take up much space.
