As an older male, I find that it keeps my grey hair in good condition, it certainly helps with itchy scalp which can be caused by age related skin conditions or medications, and keeps me free from dandruff. I have short hair and find that using it every other day it gives a slight thickening to my thinning hair. Whether it does live up to the TV adverts which indicate that it can prevent hair loss, I cannot say, but it does keep my hair looking clean and fresh. I do as the instructions on the bottle suggest and leave it on my hair for the required two minutes, and feel good after using it. One interesting point of information that is printed on the bottle is that for Competing Athletes," Alpecin Caffeine can be detected in the hair follicles"! Unfortunately it seems that all of the reviews for Alpecin are being lumped together under the one heading for Alpecin Double Effect, which I have not tried.
