Good piece of equipment for home workshop

Anyone who's bought this item would agree that when it comes to reviewing it, it would need quite an essay on it's pro and cons. I've neither the time or inclination to do that but it's worth pointing out to other potential customers what you're buying. Firstly and probably most importantly it's worth noting that a bosch pro router table is going to set you back a grand...so based on that. Cons first. Build quality is terrible, nothing is particularly square or flat, the fence is beyond useless as the workpiece catches on it. The screw for the winding handle on mine was too short as the thread was badly cut. The router isn't centred so on first use it ripped the small plastic central ring apart. It wasn't a loss as the rings don't sit flat anyway, I had to sand them level. The winding handle mechanism is wobbly. The assembly instructions are a photocopy of a photocopy x10. Whole thing for such a potentially dangerous machine just doesn't fill me with confidence when using it. Pros. Has all the hardware you need for making your own fence, feather boards etc. if you can't make a fence then steer clear of this machine. The motor is plenty powerful for medium use and I have found it more than useful. The cutter lift is accurate enough to make the tool keepable. It doesn't mention in the destructions that there is a windy knob thing under the table to lock the lift but it's there if you scramble around enough! I haven't had any problems with it dropping in use. Despite the bad build I decided to keep it based on that the money may be in the router itself but only time will tell on that. In summation. I'd say it was a bit overpriced due to it's build quality but depending what you need it for it may be worth buying. For me it is as I can neither justify or afford a bosch. It cuts profiles really smoothly and for pattern cutting it works perfectly well. You do get what you pay for mostly and this is a good example of that. It's more than useable but I do maintain a more vigorous ppe protocol whenever I turn it on. Would I but it again? As long as it doesn't explode and tear my face off at some point in the future then yes. Update. I've been using this machine for quite a while now but just to say with all the above still standing I'm really quite pleased with it. It still scares the bejesus outa me but as a weekend warrior hobbyist it's proven itself invaluable. I've cut accurate mortices with it which is part of the reason I bought it. Unlike my hand held routers I haven't smashed my knuckles into space when undoing the bit which is quite a bonus. (a trend router gave me that oo you %&£##+@ moment earlier so small mercies like that are a big plus with this machine) I'm still glad I bought it but I still want a Bosch though!

Great kit

Does the job at the right price for this money I couldn’t expect much but I was surprised how good it is, not to noisy and easy to set up, For the hobbyist cheap but very cheerful. After 11 months of low DIY use, The handle that raises the router has fallen off and the retaining screw has disappeared the bearings in the router are worn so not accurate anymore, I wouldn’t buy again I think possibly buy a better router and a separate table.

My first impressions when opening the box was how well made this this. The "legs" are very sturdy. The instruction manual needs a bit work as pictures are too dark to relate to the written instructions. However, it is not beyond the whit of man to work out. As to the operation of the equipment, setting up accurate measurements and cuts is not easy but what do you expect for this price. A little patience and a good deal of checking usually provides a reasonable job. Then why did I only give it 4 stars; well, the router itself is loose allowing the bit to move laterally about 1/8 to 1/4 inch depending on the hight setting. The lower the height is set the more stable the cutting bit appears to be. There is also a minor design fault which will not allow the extraction hood to close if the vertical feathers are set close to the work. Not a major problem but worth a mention. The fence tightens well but can be wrong if you trust the table markings. Again, a little time and effort that you would not need with a more expensive machine provides a shed load of benefits. I don't think I have been too severe here and the only major problem is the loose router. It is worth the money. Noise levels are not that high but it is advisable to wear ear protection.

Just starting working on Wood projects and I realised I needed a table router to do some more advanced projects but didnt want an expensive one as I am just starting out on woodworking. Good Points - Easy assembly set up and wood routered in under an hour - Router bits are easy to fit and does both 1/2 and 1/4 inch - Fits on my work bench and is stored away easily Bad Points - Plastic base is ok but feels flimsy. Time will tell quality of this tool I would recommend this as an introduction tool but doubt it would be good en ough if used every day.

Great all in one product but they are very hit and miss quality wise - we use these in our workshop building Campervan furniture and they save so much time over hand routering but their lifespan is pot luck - first one lasted 3+years, next one 1 month, next one a week, next one six month, next one so far so good ... the motors and switches end up having a mind of their own! - fault returns are dealt with (or not) via the manufacturer not the seller (have bought on here and via various third party sites) and we always need a working machine hence continually purchasing replacements - one of the few all in one tables with built in motor that doesn’t require a hand router to be cable tied into place in some form of Heath Robinson contraption

Good power, easy to assemble, very sturdy despite hard plastic sides and being 1/2 and 1/4 inch collets is perfect. Used extensively in home workshop and so far best solution for my router needs. Would recommend as good machine and at this price point would very highly recommend.
