Grand Theft Auto V (PS4)

I don't think I really need to explain the minute details of what GTA V is about, unless you have been living under a rock for the past year you'll know what it is, the good and the controversial. Short version, you play 3 characters Michael, Trevor & Franklin as they strive to survive in the fictional American city of Los Santos, no doubt loosely based on Los Angeles.So what's new? Probably the biggest change is the new "First Person" mode. This is not a constant mode but you can choose to use it. It adds a completely new dimension to the game. ALL the vehicles have interiors you can look round whilst you are in them, (something Gran Turismo hasn't managed yet despite being a dedicated driving game). Wandering round in First Person almost makes it a completely new game, it really does change things. You are not forced into this new perspective, but it is definitely worth more than a passing glance. You can even choose to have options such as when you take cover you revert to Third Person view so you can see more, Rockstar have really thought about this one.Graphically, with the improved power of the PS4 graphically it has been polished, it was in no way shabby on the PS3 but it is better make no mistake, cactus's now have spines, the hair on both people and animals now looks more natural as opposed to a plastic hair piece, as crazy as it sounds watching the rain is amazing, you see the splashes in the puddles, the water actually pools naturally, the light reflections in the pools look amazing. People now look even more like people, people now have more natural skin tones, crows feet from hard work, it would be wrong to say it is graphically ground breaking but it is better and I think polished would be the best description, bear in mind this is still a new system as such the limits are still being explored.There are some great little features, when the mobile phones are used the sound comes out of the controllers speaker as if you were actually holding a mobile phone on speaker phone mode, when you are being chased by the Police the light bar flashes blue and red. The touch pad, which I'll admit, I thought might be a bit of a gimmick when I first got my PS4 gets plenty of use in this game which makes life easier as rather than memorizing button combo's all it takes is a quick swipe of the pad.More animals have been added, cats roam with their gangster pet attitudes, instead of just Chop the Rottwieller and the insightful Labrador Franklin meets you now have Westies, Husky's, Border Collies, as dogs wandering about, Orca's and Humpback Whales, Hammerhead Sharks, Rays, all new additions to the wildlife.New missions have been added, find the grafitti tags, wildlife photography, the peyote plants (the effects of that are fun to say the least), the murder mystery.New vehicles have been added as well as some classic vehicles from past GTA that have been polished and brought back.All in all this is an excellent addition to the GTA series, promising much for the series. I personally was very disappointed with GTA IV, I thought it was a disappointing addition to the series, with Next Gen GTA V the series is very much back in the saddle and a very worthy addition. I've already played the Single Player mode repeatedly and will gladly continue to do so, especially with these new improvements, add the Online mode, this a fantastic addition a gaming collection.

The game is simply excellent. The first person mode alone is worth buying this game a second time and Rockstar have been thorough in ensuring a seamless implementation. It makes the game feel even more visceral and, coupled with the upgraded graphics, more immersive and fun than ever before.The graphics are definitely more detailed and sharper in 1080p on the PS4 and the game looks stunning. So far the story is the same as it was for the first release but I have only been playing for about two hours so I can't say if there are any new sections or missions as yet. Be warned if you have not played GTA V or any of the previous GTA games before that the game is NOT politically correct and this is further heightened by the new first person mode. There are already videos online of people have sex with hookers or committing petty crime in the first person but I stress that this is a game that is strictly for adults and therefore is as it should be. In any case the, ahem, love-making is not explicit other than through the use of some language so please don't all rush to the console now to sample some er,,,physical delights.It is a pity that GTA V was released for the previous generation of consoles first as this release shows just how good the game had the potential to be and it really does justice to the notion of "next generation". Is it worth spending money on a game many have already played before, especially as there are other releases that demand your hard-earned cash? I would say "YES" as the game just feels so much better on the PS4 and, as I said in my opening remarks, the first person mode alone makes this purchase worthwhile. Diehard fans should not hesitate and all others should list this game as one of those to buy soon.I can't wait for GTA VI and I hope it won't be another 5 years before we see it. In the meantime, GTA V should do nicely.

Perfect game

Having played this game for many hours on the Xbox 360 last year, i was debating whether or not to do a "double dip" on this. Picked it up last weekend, and boy i was happy i did. Rockstar released a slew of new content for gamers whom played on the PS3/360 before and content for new players. What is available is on the Rockstar website. But it does include the Dodo, a hatchet and a few new missions/side stuff to complete. You can link your social club account to the new versions and no matter if you played PS3/360 last gen, if you play PS4/One this gen you'll get the content regardless.Graphic-wise, i am stunned at how detailed San Andreas is on the PS4. I thought it was impressive last-gen, but you've seen nothing. Individual blades of grass, actual fur on the animals (as well as many new animals). The rivers/oceans have been drastically improved in detail. There are more sea creatures this time around as well. The draw distance has been improved significantly on distant objects, which is very nice indeed.Rockstar have improved traffic and pedestrians this time around. To the point that there is a lot more of both, especially cars in Blane Country. The issue before was that if you crashed a plane or your car blew up and you ended in the hospital, you could have an issue getting a new vehicle. Not anymore, more are seen driving around the area making it easier to get moving quickly.With the PS4 version, i like the little touches Rockstar have made with the DS4 controller. The little speaker on the controller acts as a radio. As an example, telephone calls. You hear the call as if it's a proper call (with the character you are calling talking through that). And police/taxi radios come through there as well.It's the same story we've come to like, you play as Trever, Francis and Michael and live out an intertwining story across San Andreas. I won't go into detail on that, don't want to spoil things for those whom have not played.It's well worth doing the double dip if you've played before, and if not then this is the definitive edition and i can't recommend it enough (as long as you are old enough to play it)

I used to say the only game you needed in your console was GTAV, but if you play a lot, then you'll probably want to do more than just beat hookers with clubs etc.It's STILL (after how many years?) one of the best games ever made.That was until Red Dead Redemption II landed, and omg!I find myself flying through GTAV without really meaning to. Money is never an issue because I've already done the jewelry heist within about an hour, and once you've got a few hundred grand, you're all set really.This time around, I'm exploring the world a lot more. I've already found that sick Dukes car, Trevor is riding about in that. I also found the decalled bigfoot vehicle behind the where you pick that woman up whose running from her wedding. (Immediately sell her to the cult in the mountains)There's also a part where Trevor has the opportunity to help out 2 guys who just pulled a job. If you take them to the cult, then it all kicks off! You get into an epic battle, and the payoff is huge! There are cases of cash everywhere in that place. I'm not sure if you can parachute in, I've never tried it. I think you can only activate them with Trevor.Today I'll take the chopper out and look for the sea plane.I also like that cars are being returned to garages etc instead of disappearing or being impounded by the police. There's nothing worse than pimping a ride, spending a fortune on upgrades and having it disappear completely! Annoying.But I'm going to take it a lot easier this time round. I'm going to take it a bit slower instead of ragging my pimped out motor as fast as it will possibly go through a built up city teaming with innocent pedestrians.I don't play online because I hate being trolled by kids that are probably 12/13, spewing racial abuse at the other people on the game without knowing their race, but the online game looks absolutely epic!Maybe some DLCs for the game? After the many many updates online has received?

Love GTA, but the 5th installment isn't perfect. San Andreas, no matter how boxlike and dated the graphics may look now, is in my mind, still the greatest game ever released, for everything it was at the time, and only the low-resolution graphics make it anything less now - such a huge, vaired map, so much freedom, so much to do, so many possibilities, so much fun to be had with all the cheats etc. GTA IV improved on graphics and gameplay, with useful additions like being able to hide behind and shoot from cover, but lacked in the map and variety of things you can do. GTA V undoubtedly has the best graphics yet, but San Andreas and GTA IV still have it beaten in other areas. The map is huge, and offers a variety of environments, but the San Andreas map was better. The physics of the world, such as the amusing ragdoll mode, were better in GTA IV, being thrown further from crashing cars/being caught in explosions... the explosions themselves were more deadly and effective, with a bigger blast radius in San Andreas and GTA IV. In San Andreas and GTA IV, you could steal cars by shooting the driver through the windscreen relatively easily, but on GTA V you're more likely to be run over than to land a shot on target. There's a video on youtube, a side by side comparison that illustrates these points better than I can write them, called "GTA IV is better than GTA V". The story in San Andreas was epic, the story in GTA IV was pretty good, but the story in GTA V is harder to follow and more confusing with switching between 3 characters, and is lacking compared to the others, I think due to effectively being smaller, fragmented parts of 3 stories - just harder to get into, harder to follow, lacking the fullness or relatability of an individual character/story. All the cheats in San Andreas made it so fun, and they cut back on them in IV, and further in V - annoyingly God Mode/Immortality now has a timer and wares off in 5 minutes. The radio had better music and was more amusing in San Andreas, was worse in IV, and is worse still in V. Quite disappointed that a lot of the cars in GTA V are the same as in GTA IV, although at least now you can customize them, as you were able to customize cars in San Andreas. GTA V does offer some great new additions though, such as first-person mode, the wildlife, the hunting activity to shoot it, the diving/underwater environment... the comic genius that is Trevor Phillips... it also has the biggest selection of weapons that are customisable for the first time, which is awesome. Definitely a worthy addition to the franchise, and somewhere, among the features of San Andreas, GTA IV and GTA V combined, lies the combination that would make the perfect game... but in my opinion, San Andreas is still the closest that Rockstar Games have come to perfection - in spite of the outdated graphics.

The overall presentation is excellent, and the gameplay is great. The game is rather controversial (especially concerning its depiction of women, and its use of torture). If you’ve played and enjoyed the previous games in the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ saga, you’ll probably really like this instalment.The graphics are superb - especially on the PS4. And the online gameplay is highly entertaining. This is one of the biggest open-world games I’ve played, and the attention to detail by the game designers is amazing. While there is a lot of fun to be had playing the various missions, it’s equally good fun just exploring the world and causing trouble – resulting in law enforcement agencies trying to catch you. This is a adult-themed game, and is not suitable for children.

The game came in my mail box but it said it was not delivered and when I put it in the PS4 the disc drive was making weird noises but I didn't think much of it, when it downloaded I went on the game but it said the disc cannot be read check if it is dirty or damaged and when I tried to eject the disc it would not come out so I had to unscrew the ps4 and I checked the back of the disc it was scratched and i cannot refund because it says it hasn't arrived.

Parfait marche tres bien

La versione Next-Gen di GTA V, uscita il 18 Novembre 2014, ha voluto reintrodurre un brand mastodontico di ottima fattura anche sulle cosole di ultima generazione. Prima ed importante novità, quella di poter giocare completamente il titolo, sia offline, che online, in prima persona. Sembra strano a dirsi, ma nelle più disparate fasi di shooting presenti in Grand Theft Auto, usufruire di una prima persona longeva e ben costruita, pur essendo un 3ps, è fantastico. Inoltre è stato portato tutto ad un livello superiore, e lo si può tranquillamente notare dai profondi oceani, alla folta e ricca vegetazione, ai giochi di luce e dalle condizioni climatiche. Pur essendo un titolo che comunque ha venduto una quantità spropositata di copie l’anno scorso, anche quest’anno GTA V si è fatto particolarmente sentire, e in Inghilterra, infatti, nell’arco di una settimana è stato raggiunto il record di vendite. Grand Theft Auto 5 non stanca mai, insomma, e la buona parte di utenza che amava fare follie a Los Santos su PS3 e XBOX360, ora potrà farle anche su Next-Gen, certo il prezzo come ben sappiamo non è onestissimo, ma almeno vale sicuramente la pena di averlo per potersi godere il titolo su un livello superiore rispetto al passato. Dare giudizi ad un’opera come GTA V è davvero riduttivo, spendere anche tante parole sembra mai come in questo caso davvero troppo poco, si rischia di tralasciare alcuni aspetti del gioco che anche se secondari contribuiscono a dare quel senso di maestosità che Rockstar ha voluto donare alla sua creatura. Chiunque è in obbligo di provare un giro per Los Santos siamo sicuri che non potrà che essere colpito da ogni suo minimo particolare, dalla cura con cui tutto è stato confezionato. E’ un gioco perfetto? No non lo è, come tutte le cose anche la più bella opera d’arte presenta delle piccole imperfezioni, ma se la perfezione esiste sappiamo che GTA V la sfiora a più riprese.Se a distanza di svariati anni dall'uscita il costo è ancora elevato ed i giocatori sono ancora tantissimi il motivo ci sarà. GTA 5 è immenso, un signor gioco ed online è ancora più divertente con tutte le varie mod.In attesa di GTA 6 e dell'imminente Red Dead Redemption 2.Spero di esservi stato utile e che la mia opinione possa aiutare anche altre persone.
