A ridiculous and underdeveloped 'toy' that will just generate disappointment in your children and frustration for parents. Our kids are huge fans of Nerf products and a recent gift voucher allowed my 8 year old to choose and order the Vortex Diatron. It has just arrived - the look of excitement on his face as he opened the box was magical. He then read the instructions and we went through the operating method together... 1st operation of the load and fire sequence was difficult but successful. 2nd attempt he tried to do it on his own, but couldn't. On the 3rd attempt he passed it to me and now the cocking handle is stuck in the 'open' position. No amount of squeezing, pushing and general manipulation can make it reload and close. Absolutely dreadful and heartbreaking for my son. I think if I push and wrench on it too much the flimsy handle will snap off, negating any chance of a refund... It won't even go back in the box as the handle is stuck at a 45 degree angle. Read all of the reviews on this item before you add it to your basket, or face the same fate we did. Dear Nerf, if you read this - please rebrand this product from Diatron to Diabolical.

The design of this gun is flawed. The lever which arms the discs gets stuck easily and then there's little you can do but pray that it won't brake as you push and pull it around trying to unstuck it. Moreover, to arm the discs requires a bit of precision (how much you should extend the arm and how fast you should pull it back) which might be a problem for younger kids. Even I struggled with this from time to time. I don't know why Nerf chose to differentiate this gun from all the others but it doesn't work as it should. I was this close to return this product because as soon as I unpacked it, the arm got stuck and almost broke it in an effort to unstuck it. Thankfully it didn't and as soon as you learn how to properly arm the gun, you can fire all 10 discs pretty fast and to a rather long distance I might say. But I don't think many people will be happy with the quality of this product..

It's quite big. that's my first impression. The loading mechanism works fine wiht a bit of training. I wouldnt prefer it for kids under 8 years, cause a jamming disc or priming maybe diifcult. Its range is near 20-23m, precision near good on 10 m. After this it starts curving like all vortex liner. Only 8 discs in pack is a bit lousy. All products start up with a full load of ammo... In my opinion the place under barrel should be used for a tactical rail or light, something like that. But here is nothing. Practically a good blaster cause of range, precision,capacity,durability and cool look. Downs are size,lack of ammo and lost space under the barrel.

This was a much wanted pressie for my son who has tons of these things! The mechanism is indeed very hard to pull back and load, giving the impression that it will soon break. Fine if you could get it very cheap - otherwise other guns are sturdier and will last longer in my opinion.

If you shop carefully I have found Nerf to be the best value for money toy brand on the market. At the time of writing, at £6 this blaster is no exception! We have not had this one long but it has worked well so far, the loading and cocking mechanism are a bit fiddly and stiff respectively, but I imagine the average 8yo will have it mastered in no time. Probably wouldn't recommend for younger kids or for a 'first' nerf blaster, but with the novel USP of double disk firing. it's an excellent addition to a growing collection...

ok so this is a vortex gun that shoots two disks at once.i think that makes it good. some people say the leaver gets jammed but for me it is fine.Now i'm a kid and i find the leaver easy to pull back.

Pistolet au design réussi, tir facilement à 12m environ les 2 balles. Par contre, s'il y a une seule balle la gâchette se bloque, car le mécanisme est conçu pour tirer 2 balles à la fois ! Mais sinon, permet de belles parties familiales ou entre amis.

La pistola ha encantado a mi hijo. Cumple lo que promete en el anuncio, y tiene bastante alcance, suficiente para un niño.

Ab sofort schwirrt meinen Gegnern nicht nur eine disc um die Ohren, sondern gleich zwei. Diese im absolut an den Blaster angepassten farblichen weiß-orange design. Apropos Design. Ich kenne keinen Blaster, der einem Dead Space Plasmacutter so nahe kommt. Der Lademechanismus macht allerdings keinen allzu guten Eindruck. Im Eifer des Gefechts dürfte die Bruchgefahr ziemlich hoch sein.

Netter Blaster, auch wenn das Spannen etwas tricky ist. Aber zwei Disks mit einem Schuß, ist es wert. Liegt gut in der Hand, auch bei größeren Händen.

Mon fils adore son Nerf mais est très déçu de la qualité. Il est très important de respecter les règles d'utilisation car il est fréquent que les disques se coincent, et on pense que l'appareil ne fonctionne pas. Mon mari a du ouvrir le Nerf pour remettre en place le système qui était resté bloqué.
