The remote that came with the tv became damaged and the buttons stopped working,so I took a chance that the remotes available now would work. The remote worked great and I am thrilled.

Other than the fact that the buttons at the bottom do different things, this works just as well as the original re ote used to work like before it broke. No problems. These are cheap and decent. Honestly my kids like moving this around the house this place and that. These are so cheap, it is not worth the hassle of dealing with that recurring problem. I bought two remotes and am buying another. The last thing I want to do is to ask where they put the remote again, so it is money well spent to have several remotes.

After my dogs used my original TCL remote as a chew toy, I bought one here on Amazon from another vendor for about $7. It's terrible. While it almost looks the same as the factory remote, it has a much smaller IR window in the front and the TV doesn't "see" the button clicks very well. Sometimes you are mashing the same button 3 or 4 times to get the TV to react. This remote, however, has the same large IR window that my original remote had, and it works flawlessly. I can aim the remote pretty much anywhere in the room and the TV responds to each command in a single button press. It's quite literally saved my marriage. So, short story shorter - Buy this one.

Installed 2 AAA batteries. Works perfect. Happy camper.
