Has held up well. 8’ is perfect size for catching shad in up to about 10’ of water. Doesn’t gill the bait like a 3/8. Easy to throw and opens well. Review: High Quality Net with Fast-Sinking Lead Weights - This net works great for catching bait such as shad to fish for catfish and striped bass. Many state regulates cast net diameter and/or mesh size. Research your local law to ensure that the cast net you are buying is within regulations. Pros: -lead weight allows for faster sinking. Many other nets uses non-lead weight which does not have the same density and therefore do not sink as quick. -1lb per radius foot rating is a good balance of quick sinking yet not too heavy to cast a few times. This rating means that the net has approximately 5lb of lead sinkers. -3/8" mesh size is good for catching shads -box is well made Cons: -box does not have a handle -price is quite a bit more expensive than non-lead cast nets ## Features - Crafted from the highest quality material - Perfect for outdoor and even indoor use - Made in China - Package dimensions:7.75"L x 6.0"W x 5.0"H ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00144CLQM | | Best Sellers Rank | #297,377 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #499 in Fishing Nets | | Brand | Betts | | Brand Name | Betts | | Color | White | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 368 Reviews | | Display Size | 5 feet | | Fishing Technique | Cast Net | | Frame Material Type | Aluminum or Stainless Steel | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00042621111666 | | Grip Material | Rubber | | Handle Material | Fiberglass" or "Plastic" or "Metal | | Handle Type | Fixed Handle | | Included Components | Betts Old Salt Cast Net 5ft Mono 0.375in Mesh Box | | Inner Material | 3/8 mono mesh | | Item Type Name | Nets | | Item Weight | 5.7 pounds | | Manufacturer | Betts | | Manufacturer Part Number | 3111666 | | Material | Synthetic | | Material Type | Synthetic | | Maximum Weight Recommendation | 2 pounds | | Mesh Opening Size | 0.38 inches | | Model Name | 5PM | | Model Number | 5PM | | Number of Items | 1 | | Other Special Features of the Product | Foldable, Lightweight | | Product Care Instructions | Rinse with fresh water after each use, air-dry in the shade, store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and sharp objects. | | Product Style | Classic | | Shape | Round | | ShellMaterial | Mesh | | Size | 5ft | | Sport Type | Fishing | | Style | Classic | | UPC | 042621111666 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | Manufacturer Warranty | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Betts - **Color:** White - **Item Weight:** 5.7 pounds - **Material:** Synthetic - **Size:** 5ft ## Images ![Betts 10PM Old Salt Mono Cast Net, 10', 3/8" Mesh, 1 lb Per Foot Yellow - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61ZzEJJZOYL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Size** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great net *by B***E on August 17, 2025* Great net.
