The smallest tray is not a square so how can it be 17 x 17 x 5.5?

The picture is deceiving - the smallest tray is square. I have just measured it and it is indeed 17 x 17 x 5.5cms. Would also like to add that the trays are very good quality

Does anyone know if the non slip surface at the bottom is removable like a insert/mat or is it actually built in as part on the tray?

The drainage tray at the bottom is removable to make cleaning easy.

Is the soft interior water-proof? Could you keep a damp cloth in it under the sink?

I think a damp, wrung out cloth would be alright. It might damage the lining if the cloth is too wet.
