It definitely helps relieve reflux/GERD symptoms
This is very good for providing some relief from reflux or GERD etc without needing to prop the bed up & annoy your partner. I’m 5ft3 & I feel the wedge is meant for taller people but using the wedge is better than using car axle stands!I have been suffering horribly recently, despite changing my diet & medication, with a storm of GERD symptoms, many of which - I now realise - I’ve had for years, including loss of balance, tooth decay & enamel erosion, as well as feeling of lumps in chest & throat, hoarseness, cough, clearing throat, tiredness, difficulty speaking/swallowing/breathing, and I do feel this wedge is a good tool in my armoury to fight my way back to good health.Update: In conjunction with dietary changes (for me, already on a limited diet, it meant cutting right down on fat, alcohol, sugar, tomatoes, vinegar & citrus, all of which were staples in my diet) & daily lansoprazole, I’ve become much more stable over 6-8wks and now have much more energy, improved balance, am sleeping better, have much less pressure in my chest & throat, and have reduced other symptoms. For anyone else suffering with reflux, cut down on your food intake, especially on your dinner & try not to eat after 7pm.The wedge has proved to be a godsend, would just like to be able to sleep on all of it rather than 2/3!!In itself, this is a very good wedge, no reduction in plumpness at all with use. I cover it with a sheet, using it on top of the bedsheet so I can remove it easily, but if you get a larger bedsheet, you can cover it that way & ive heard some people put it under the mattress. It’s good value for money, comes in quite a small bag but expands once you struggle it out of there. If you put a pillow under your knees, or between them if you sleep on your side, you don’t wriggle down the bed & off the wedge. My health has improved so much that I’m now largely managing my symptoms with diet & lifestyle management - I’ve taken lansoprazole once in the last month because of nausea. I’ve read dozens (over 50) of books on digestive & dietary health issues, out of all of them I recommend reading one of George Jelineks books on diet (his is for MS but it applies, in the main part, to everyone more generally), The Gut Makeover Diet by Hyde (my bible), The Gut Gealth Diet Plan by Bailey (worked with Hyde, another bible), Spent by Lipman (wish I’d had it years ago when I first became ill), Oh Sugar by Bassford (no one needs refined sugar), Why People Don’t Heal & How They Can by Myss (to take responsibility for yourself & what you’re chucking in your gob), How Not To Die by Greger (the book the medics use but don’t expect the rest of us to stick to). I keep going back to all of them as habits are hard to break and hard to establish.I take a host of supplements as a result of these books, I also use a step at the toilet specifically designed to aid pooing - avoiding straining, fissures, pain, discomfort, piles - I don’t know how to do links but it comes up as a best seller for around ten pounds under toiletting stool, it helps if you have issues. Also, ladies, if you have to watch out for tight waistbands, look at your bras - I recommend soft maternity bras so there’s no pressure on your torso from your clothes. Re waistbands, I use button extenders as well as having a change of clothes at hand.Good luck!Update: 2 years of nightly use & no change in plumpness, very impressed with itUpdate: 3 yrs in, still fine

Total game changer!!!! Highly recommend!!!
Due to my body being like a thing possessed at night time, being a lady of a certain age (hot flushes, etc) and living with long term post-spinal surgery issues and Fibromyalgia, I have been trying to move into a separate bed in the spare room (to give my OH the opportunity to get some sleep without all my disturbances). After almost 5 years of spending most nights sleeping on the recliner sofa, I really needed to get my body used to sleeping in a bed again. The bed is comfy enough with a decent mattress/frame etc but I was waking up with horrible neck, back and hip pains (more than is usual for me) so I bought this Bed Wedge to see if it would help. Well, it certainly has! I only wish I had bought this years ago!!!!!This Orthologics Large Bed Wedge is well made, supportive (I'm a big lass and it takes my weight and chunkiness with ease). It's wide enough for me to 'find my place' on it without feeling like I'm running out of space and long enough to support me right down from my head to my waist (I'm 5'9) which I'm impressed with. I do sleep best in a strange almost on my side position (propped up behind by a big shredded memory foam body pillow) but this bed wedge has been a total game changer. Within approx. 10 days I am waking up with much less pain and my "first thing" mobility is a little easier because of it. The price point of this bed-wedge is spot on and it doesn't move around (unless you really want it to) once you've got into your comfy position. It stays put if I roll over in the night and doesn't make me feel overly hot (another big consideration for me!) Anyone who suffers similar ills to me will know just what an "art form" it is to get things "just right" in bed so I am very pleased that this bed wedge is helping me to get comfortable and is helping me to sleep back in a bed again! Thank you Orthologics!!!!

Quality wedges and comfortable
Very comfortable and well made wedges. I bought two and have put them both inside a spare single duvet cover to keep them clean as I use them as one unit on a 4'6" mattress. It is a tight sqeeze to get two into the single cover but they will fit and it keeps them tightly together so they don't move around and the cover keeps them clean. I then place them under the top sheet which seems to work ok (but I do have the extra deep fitted sheets). When placed on the bed there is a approxomately an inch and a half on either side of the wedge. I haven't tried putting them under the mattress as I am worried in case they make a 'bend' or 'ridge' in the mattress, tho they probably wouldn't - but I don't know?!If you sleep on your back you will likely find them very comfortable, I am a side sleeper and they take a bit of getting used to but great when lying on my back reading as they are so comfortable. The only thing I've found is that I do tend to slide down the bed somewhat during the night and although it's no great problem I'm not sure at this point if that's any good for my back due to the angle. I think they do help with reflux, paticularly if you stay higher up on them. Overall I'm happy with them - oh a word of warning tho - you have to fight to get them out of the packaging!! The only reason I dropped a star was because of my sliding down on them (and my duvet tends to follow - but that is a personal thing and may just be me!

A real God send....
Brought this item because I have been experiencing lower back pain since birth of first child 5 years ago. This pain is mechanical and only occurs at night when disks are compressed. Currently I use a bed frame which goes under the mattress and lifts me at a rough 45 degree angle. I then use pillows to prop my legs up, however I have been slowly slipping down the frame at night and losing the pillows under my legs, which is causing me to wake in agony. This pillow was the perfect solution to my problem. It came delivered in a neat and tightly wrapped package. I left it to regain its shape as advised on the advert. To my suprise it happend fairly quickly. That night I used it to prop my legs up at a 90 degree angle. By elevating my legs in this way, it instantly took the weight/pressure off my lower back. I had the best undisturbed nights sleep (6. 5 hours) I have had in a long time. Usually I get 5 hours and wake up 3/4 times a night and have to walk around to relieve the pain. So this was a huge relief to say the least. I use the frame for my torso and the orthologics wedge pillow for my legs. This is a winning combination and I am so glad I have cracked my sleep issues with this purchase. I can now sleep peacefully without the pain and discomfort. I can now remove the dozen or so pillows which have been taking up space in my bed. Finally, I cannot recommend this product more highly, especially for people with lower back pain. Dont give up trying to find what position works for you in bed. My sleep deprivation was getting me really depressed and I have tired everything from physio, accupucture, a chiroprator, massage, inversion therapy, even considering surgery, but this pillow was a cost effective way of transforming the way I sleep at night and has been a real life saver. I will update this review if anything changes, but so far I am over the moon with this product. Addtional benefits include a removable and washable cover and its made with memory foam so it moulds to your shape and bounces back easily after use. Also, the ridged material of the cover acts like grips on your mattress, so as not to slip and slide during the night. My only wish is that you could buy additional covers for the wedge pillow and maybe have them in different colours so that it can match your bedding colour scheme.

Really super wedge pillow.
I have a tall husband and previous wedge pillows were not long enough to reach his lower back. This one succeeded and has really helped him recover from a neck injury. Definitely worth the money! There was no unpleasant smell on the foam and the pillow itself is good quality. It has really helped relieve his pain by supporting the neck.

Good quality
Nice product but the pictures are deceiving. The people in the pictures must be tiny, or the pillows in the picture are bigger. I got the extra large one but it's too narrow to sleep on. Turn over and you're off the pillow. Need wider sizes.

You’ll Need To Get Used To It But It Does Work Against Acid Reflux
Right I’ve given this 5 stars as it works but I’m torn between using it and not using it, let me explain more. I’ve been suffering with Laryngopharyngeal Reflux For several months, an endoscopy revealed a 2cm sliding Hiatus Hernia and my consultant suggested one of these pillows along with a series of other measures. Now I’m extremely fussy when it comes to my pillow, it took me ages in finding the right kind of dunlopillo and I’m a side sleeper, I like to fall asleep with one hand under my pillow, elbow out on my side. The other measures suggested looked easier to implement than changing to a wedge pillow so I tried them first but my symptoms would not go away so in came the wedge pillow. My first nights sleep was awful, but I knew I’d have to persevere with this. One month on my sleep has improved but it’s still not great BUT my symptoms are improving. I’ve given this 5 stars because it works and I’ll detail the things I’m trying to overcome...I can sleep when it’s cold, when it’s hot I have trouble, this wedge makes you warm, it retains heat. If you sleep on your back it feels more comfortable than if you sleep on your side, it is quite a firm feeling.I put my normal pillow on top of this and it helps but I find I wake in the night having slid half way down the wedge. I wake most mornings with a bit of stiffness in my neck, I’m putting that down to the wedge and my normal pillow being the wrong combination for side sleeping. My sleeping posture with an elbow under my pillow has to change, my elbow hangs over the side of the wedge unsupported and it doesn’t feel comfortable, if your bed is wide enough you can overcome this by placing another standard pillow next to it to support your elbow. It’s a bit like taking a nasty medicine, the medicine works and cures you but the taste isn’t nice. This pillow works but you’ll need to change and adapt your sleeping habits unless you sleep on your back. If you’re fussy with your pillow you’re going to have a hell of a job getting used to sleeping with a wedge but it will stop the nighttime acid reflux.

A comfy GERD pillow and good back rest
I am very happy with this pillow. The angle is the right degree and the pillow is a good length for a comfortable night's sleep. I feel it's helped my reflux related sleep issues along with other adjustments. The carry case broke immediately which is a shame but it doesn't really detect from my satisfaction with the purchase and I have recommended it to others.
