Krups Expert Burr, Automatic Coffee Grinder Review
This is a very good coffee grinder. Although I have only had this for less than a week, I have found it invaluable to my coffee experience. As I have written in many reviews about semit automatic espresso machine, you need to get all the cafe automated functions right if you are performing them manually. Getting the right dose of coffee grounds and the right level of fineness is really important if you want a good quality extraction from your espresso machine. This machine provides just what you need to achieve the results. You can select from a wide range of grind levels from course for a caffetier style to fine for an espresso with everything in between. You can select from 2 cups to 12 which is ideal when you realise just how many grams 2 cups provide. The two cup setting will give you 14 grams of coffee suitable for most espresso machines, for my machine have the fineness set at around 9 O'Clock on the dail which I about 4 I think. That is perfect for a good extraction and a lovely coffee. The machine is simple to either brush out with the brush provided or clean should you need to. Obviously take not of the safety aspects, particularly the sharpness of the blades if you take it apart to clean, overall there is little that you can take apart or get wrong when you put it together. If you are looking to improve your coffee experience with home espresso, I would recommend that you buy this grinder. It will change your experience overnight but more importantly provide a level of consistancy so that your coffee extraction is the same every time making your coffee taste the same every time.

Solid, consistent grinder
Great grinder!Been using it a while now and I get a consistent grind, primarily used for v60s and filter machine coffee.Ideally it would notch down one more setting so 1 cup could be ground at a time (I grind 'on-demand' rather than have the ground coffee sitting around) but the minimum 2-cup setting gives the quantity I like for one mug so works perfectly for me.

Good Value if you don't want espresso blend
Very easy to use. Button on the left sets how coarse/fine that you want your coffee to be, and the other sets how much/long it will blend for.The tray is easy to pull out and collect your coffee/clean and rinse out.Safety features are good. It won't grind if the tray isn't in properly and /or the lid is on correctly. That means you won't get your fingers shredded by the grinder nor will you have ground coffee flying everywhere. The biggest downfall of this grinder is thst the finest blend is not fine enough to be considered an "espresso" blend. Espresso blend is what you use in coffee machines, so if you have a DeLonghi, Gaggia unit etc, you will not be able to use this. The coffee at the finest level is still far too coarse for a coffee machine - it will still come out if you do use it - but the coffee will be extremely weak. You'll be able to notice this in the colour as it comes out (lighter instead of dark). In summary, if you're looking for a good grinder at a decent price - and not going to use it in a coffee machine - rather a French press/cafetiere or aeropress - I would recommend this product. If you're looking for an espresso blend, i.e coffee machine, look elsewhere.

The Best Grinder At Its Price Point
It is an excellent coffee grinder, especially for the price. It is so easy to use and perfectly engineered, as you would expect from a German company. It has two easy dials for amount of cups you want to grind and you can set the other dial from extremely coarse to ultra fine. Although, I wouldn't say it is the most accurate and can struggle a little to provide a truly coarse ground. It is important to brush it out regularly, so you aren't basically getting a build-up of old granules etc. That keeps it fresher. The honest verdict: is it the best grinder in the world? No. However, at its price point, it is exceptional. My one is 6+ years old and still going. If you are fairly new to home brewing and grinding yourself, there is no better entry to it than this. I'm moving on to a slightly higher grade one now. But make no mistake, Kreps make quality things and this is no exception. It's a hearty recommendation from me.

Does the job, nice enough to use, minces up the coffee beans.
Looks the part, does the job, so far so good.We use a bean to cup machine but that always has decaf beans in so we use this to grind the proper stuff when we want a caffeine kick. The grinders are metal, I think I would prefer ceramic but it works OK. The hopper holds quite a lot, maybe 60g of beans. The mincer won't work unless the lid is on so you shouldn't be able to mince your fingers accidentally. Or on purpose. There are 2 knobs. The one on the side sets the fineness of the grind. The one on the front sets the number of cups-worth you want ground. I leave that set to 2, which produces enough for about 3 cups for me.There's a button to set the mincers in motion. Other reviews suggest that this button can break this so I press it sympathetically. Fingers crossed. When the grind is happening you can watch it being fired into the transparent bin. The designer has clearly thought about this.Happy with this purchase.

Don’t be tempted.
I wouldn’t bother, great little machine to start with, has stopped working within 3 months, we use once a day at most. Then the support that follows and trying to get the item repaired is a long process with a number of calls needed to be made. Amazon aren’t interested even though they are the retailer.

Not built to last
I've had this grinder for about two years and, whilst it continues to grind my coffee, the 'go' button has snapped off its mounting and disappeared into the body of the machine, forcing me to push the microswitch on the PCB directly (not very safe), I've had to replace the grounds container twice because it shatters at the slightest drop and the rubber seal between the container and grounds exit hole is hanging by a thread, which might account for why it leaks coffee everywhere, every time I use it.It a bugger to clean, too, with lots of nooks and crannies that love to soak up my oily coffee dust.I had a basic blade grinder for over 10 years before I bought this and, when this one finally gives up the ghost, I'll be going back to one of those. This one looks nice but isn't built to last.
