Most of the time I find the image stable enough without pressing the button but if you ned to see detail then press and hold. I find these binoculars are excellent but heavier than ones without IS. **Q: Can these be used at night ? Can a microphone be attached?** A: They can be used at night for night sky objects as this is one of the things I use them for, i.e stargazing. However, they are not night vision binos as used by paramilitary etc. Not sure how you would attach a mike, sticky tape but that might ruin the bios. **Q: They only come with caps on the eye lens covers. Which cap should I get for the output lenses?** A: I have used them for over two years birding with no caps and they are still in great condition. **Q: do these binoculars have a full canon warranty. Can they be taken to a canon shop if found faulty** A: I would assume they do. I would certainly take them to Canon if they were faulty as i have done with camera purchased from Amazon, no problem as long as you keep the paperwork and date of purchase. However apart from accidentally damaging them i doubt you would need to, they are very robust and well made. Have travelled with them quite a bit and even dropped them without any issues. At half the price of the newer model and bigger optics (36mm) . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing image quality and stabilisation *by F***M on 12 April 2026* The image quality of these is amazing. Sharp and clear across the field of view. A little off axis aberration, but when you focus correctly it's very minor. Obviously the image stabilisation is the key feature and it delivers this fantastically well even when panning. It copes with even quite shaky hands. Canon seem wedded to having to hold the button down. Not a problem for me though. The FOV is excellent and the 12x magnification is perfect for bird and wildlife watching. The 36mm aperture is genuine and helps in lower light levels. There are no covers for the objective lenses, but they are recessed and well protected. You'd have to be pretty clumsy to damage them. At this price point you tend to be careful! Ergonomics are good. They are not too heavy and are comfortable to hold. The focus wheel is well placed and easy to use. Like all Canon binoculars, they have a rubberised casing, so be careful to keep your hands clean of sun cream and oil to avoid reactions.
