The Lost Boys is one of 80's cinema's iconic vampire films about two new-in-town brothers who discover a local gang of motorcycle youths (including a young Kiefer Sutherland) are more undead than alive. Younger brother Sam (Corey Haim) works hard to eradicate the ghouls but his older brother (Jason Patric) falls in love with the group's lone female (Jami Gertz). Soon, he finds that he's gradually becoming a vampire himself. Shot on location in the coastal California town of Santa Cruz and directed by Joel Schumacher (Flatliners), The Lost Boys became a pop-culture phenomenon thanks to its attractive young stars, offbeat soundtrack, and hip, clever marketing campaign. The film's tagline: "Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire." perfectly captured its knowing mixture of attitude and gore. Review: Greatest vampire movie ever, and more! - Not much to say other than the fact that this is probably the best vampire film ever made, it's one of those few films that manages to blend horror with humour and just all round entertainment (American Werewolf in London would also be on this rather short and elite list). It has a great 80s cast, epic 80s soundtrack, and is one of those films that I have been watching on various formats since the 80s and this blu ray looks and sounds great. A big improvement from the DVD. I have heard that the 4k is even better, but I am still debating if I can replace my extensive film collection that are largely blu ray, with new 4k that average about twenty quid a pop! For now, the blu ray looks great and this was a fraction of the price! Review: Classic 80s awesomeness. - The 80s gave us so much underrated greatness (me, for example) that it only seems like now, from a safe distance, we can finally look back and appreciate it all. One genre that fared particularly well back then was the oh so tricky comedy/horror, (though seems to be having a renaissance at moment), and the Lost Boys may well be one its finest examples, so if that's your bag and you haven't seen this film for some reason, you need to reconcile that. And also for those of you enjoying Stranger Things, you'd do well to check this out too. In terms of 80s tropes, it's got everything you might expect. No good punks? Check. Cool/Geeky teen outcasts battling a supernatural evil? Check. Parents who just don't get it? Check. Keither Sutherland? Double Check. Crazy biker Vampire gang? Triple Check. All this and I haven't even started on the music (Echo and the Bunnymen covering the Doors, anyone?), the outfits (Leather jackets for EVERYONE) and perhaps most terrifying of all, the mullets. So (to a cool 80s montage with awesome music in the background) sharpen your stakes, grab your crucifixes, fill up on holy water and for the love of God add this movie to your collection right now! Best vampire film ever made🧛🏻♂️🦇
I loved this film since I was 13 back in the early nineties and it is still one if not my absolute favourite film ever. I still have a big crush on Billy Worth aka Dwayne (the gorgeous dark hair vampire). An amazing film with a great story, great cast and first rate soundtrack to boot. What more can I say, The Lost Boys speak for themselves. 😃👍🏻❤️❤️❤️

80's 'horror' classic
From the soundtrack to the clothes, this film screams the 80s at you. On the one hand a vampire horror movie (there are some mildly gory moments) and on the other hand a tongue-in-cheek coming-of-age film that sees the likes of Corey Feldman mature beyond his pre-pubescent Goonies performance. A must for fans of vampire movies, comic horror, american west coast teen films, and anyone wanting to see what Jack Bauer looked like before joining CTU!

Stunning high definition transfer
I wanted to replace my DVD and this was well worth the upgrade. The transfer is superb. It's great to have the massive improvement in picture quality and the sound seems better too.

Un classique absolu du film de vampires. Un vrai retour dans les années 80. Bons acteurs, bonne histoire et bonne bande originale. Bref que demander de plus ?

LOOOOOVE this movie. Classic for the 80s. Real special effects, though some today might see them as hokey. Well done for the time and a lot of fun. Definitely inspired Buffy (the TV show), all the way down to the makeup for the vampire facial changes. Fun one-liners, 'Goonies'-like humor, but also steamy 80's teenager lust and romance. Crazy over-the-top vampire violence. The climax gets a little hokey but the ending is awesome. You have to watch it to understand. The theme song is addicting, awesome music, dark, fun and sexy all rolled into one. I watched it 3 times in one week. It's like stepping back in time. Kiefer Sutherland heartthrob classic.
