First class
Replaced a cheap and nasty valve that failed. That cheap effort is on here for £10 and this was only a few £s more. It is high quality and a dream to fit. Instructions were a bit vague but as it's so simple that was no issue. Quiet and accurate when adjusted. Zero leaks

Quick and quiet
This is a very good solution for anyone who needs to replace a cistern fill valve. It is solidly constructed, comes with comprehensive instructions for easy fitting and functions quickly and quietly. It features a special damper in the inlet pipe which means there is little noise - and no 'thump' or vibration in the supply pipe when it shuts off. Recommended.

Quality and easily fitted
Did exactly as needed and only realised afterwards that my other toilet has the same one for years. The instructions for fitting could have been better. Now I've fitted it once it would be easy if I ever have to replace another one.

I’d 100% buy this again.
So much better than a plastic model 400 shank. It was extremely tight getting it into the ceramic fill valve hole. Some people may struggle with that (dont force it) but I saw it as a positive. It took me a little time to carefully work it through, and it sheared a tiny bit of brass in the process, but the fit is incredible. Not a single leak around the connection without any PTE or silicone that some amateur did on my old one. I’d 100% buy this again. Hopefully I won’t need to, but if I do, I know what I’ll be buying!

Brilliant design, genuinely silent
The Fluidmaster PRO45B bottom entry with Brass shank is very easily fitted and adjusted, and eventually serviced. Instructions are good; easily read and with clear diagrams. For me the most important features are 1. The brass shank 2. The rigid fill tube does not collapse or block or rot. 3. The captive float does not bounce!! 4. Filling is silent. It has a simple twist/unclick bayonet style assembly to gain access to the diaphragm/seal (type 242MP071 ), no tools needed after installation. The plastic shank version is widely available from competitively priced DIY stores and builder’s merchants, this better brass version is harder to find. However, I am very definitely not a fan of the height adjustment and this point was leaking very slightly (about fifteen minutes to overflow) until I jer-jer-jiggled it a bit between click stops to allow the internal (infernal?) seal to settle in my low pressure system. The standard 1/2" BSP threaded brass 'shank' is the same length as that of the plastic type it replaced. A fibre washer is NOT supplied. A new one is always required when fitting to a standard shouldered tap stub. There is also a taper inside the brass shank so it could be used with a compression fitting as well. I added an M20 fibre washer as a spacer between the securing nut and the tank because the thread on the brass shank stops just short of the tank base and could foul the plastic nut. The slight friction of the fibre also helps to prevent the plastic nut working loose on the plastic tank. I always prefer the brass shank. It is much stronger than a plastic one and very much less likely to fracture or leak. My detail pic shows how the previous plastic shank cracked close above the tap connector nut after twenty-five years in a low pressure system – the reason for this replacement. Now we can go to the loo in the middle of the night and not worry about waking up the rest of the house.

Fast fill? Yes. Quiet? No. Read to avoid an installation nightmare.
My old filling valves on two toilets have been giving me trouble by leaking and tormenting the pump on and off. I've found a cheaper variant with plastic shank of this fluidmaster but ordered the brass one online, as brass supposed to be better, more reliable, right? Well have a read how what supposed to be a simple and easy install as with the first toilet (using another valve) turned to be a lengthy pain in the....I have to mentioned, that despite not being a plumber, I have experience in installing and repairing a lot of stuff, including plumbing. - Installation odyssey: Installing the valve inside water reservoir was super easy. Despite weakish looking seal - no leaks. The problem appeared where was least expected - upon connection it to the water. In my case the water is supplied via a brass pipe, which obviously does not have much flexibility if at all. As much as I tried to align the shank with the pipe and took my time to slowly turn the nut, still it managed somehow to get a slight angle (the nut against the shank). What you think happened when I opened the water supply? Yes, live scenes from titanic. Upon unscrewing it back, horror scenes, the nut made of harder steel, cut away strips of brass from the brass shank. As a result - a painful removal of the brass and a damaged brass shank in a ugly way. Here important is to mention that the shank thread is very sharp and feels like it can cut through your skin if you'd press on it a bit harder. So the edges are very thin. In comparison, on another fill valve that I've installed on the first toilet, from flomasta, the edges are more rounded and smoother. Being so reduces the chance of them being cut away by the nut thread. What followed was a series of painful on and offs, with PTFE tape, on both the thread and the brass olive. All useless. I have resolved it just by cutting off the damaged piece of brass shank, taking my time to perfectly smooth it out and changing the fiber seal too, which is not supplied. - Noise: Listen to the video on close to max setting on your phone. This will give you an impression about the noise it makes. Disappointing despite being advertised as very quiet. The flomasta in the first toilet is a lot quieter. This is an important aspect and becomes very noticeable especially if you use the toilet during the night, when everybody else is sleeping. I have to mention that I tried using the supplied, pasta looking like silencer and despite installing it correctly - it made no difference in my case. Eventually I took it off as noted also by a plumber in the comments - they create issues in a short period of time. - Filling speed: Happy in this regard, it is really quick and quicker than flomasta, although about 5 seconds difference on a full tank. With this fluidmaster it takes about 30 seconds to fill in the full reservoir. Since filling the water always makes my 800W water pump work, I bet if I would've changed the fill valve 8 years ago when moved in the house, throughout the years it would've resulted in substantial energy = money savings. To summarize: I have mixed feelings. Even if the shank did not give me issues and it might not give issues to you - I still would give it a 4 star for the noise it makes. But the whole story with this fluidmaster valve gave me so much pain that I can't just forget it. Note - it can go smooth for you and be quieter, depending on your water pressure, etc. Just keep in mind, the brass thread is apparently very naughty and a slight angle or too much pressure your plumbing trailer becomes a series. Stay well and dry haha!

Très bonne qualité
Utilisé en remplacement du modèle identique, qui avait tenu 15 ans, et a cessé de fonctionner à cause du calcaire. Produit très qualitatif. Bien noter que le filetage mâle est en 1/2 pouce.
