They seem to last about 10 years before they lose bristle. It is wildly expensive, but worth the price to me. I have fairly thick and long hair and it has never been a problem. It is small enough to travel in a light toilet kit. If you have very long thick hair, it might be a bit too strong and you'll have to brush more and lightly.
