It has the best number of options for finding the correct height and is very sturdy. I do not know how I would manage without this item and would replace it in a heartbeat if I needed another one. I even use it on my house slipper for use when I am at home wearing the boot on the other foot. I have no idea how anyone can manage without one of these unless you spend most of your time walking very little. I live in a city where we walk everywhere and use public transportation. And if you are dealing with wearing an ortho boot, you absolutely need to be as level as possible when walking as you are already a bit unstable from the foot injury/surgery, etc. One needn't be dealing with being off-balance any more than necessary. Falling is not an option in this condition, for sure! **Q: How high up the leg does the boot go?** A: Mid calf, like nine inches above the inner ankle **Q: Does the material contain metal at all?** A: Nope..just plastic **Q: Would this walker be good for post metatarsal surgery?** A: Yes, because I broke my metatarsal bones also and used the boot for recovery. It took me about six months because ligaments and tendons were involved, but it relieves the pressure on your foot.
