I have a couple of Swiss Army knives which I’ve had for a long time and my 8 year old grandson is fascinated with them so I decided to buy him this because the ones in the shops which only have a third of features are three times the price. He loves it and understands that he can’t have it till he’s 16 he just loves looking and holding it without the blades being out it’s a fantastic piece of engineering too

Few - if any - of the tools can be used for anything other than the lightest of jobs. Looks the part. I tried one after losing yet another Victorinox (I'm a part-time handyman). But no .... £19 wasted. A paperweight maybe. PS if it's a present, spend the same money on a small Victorinox proper Swiss made knife. The Camper is a good choice. Will last for years.

Very handy

I got this out of curiosity, more as desk fiddle toy than anything else, and to see what the mini pliers at this size felt like in the hand (not bad at all, although they obviously aren't going to win over anyone who's used a pair of Knipex mini pliers or a full sized multi tool). Swiss Eagle might possibly assemble in Switzerland, it's difficult to find any real info online, but as a brand they only seem to exist to closely copy household name products including some dubious reuses of product photos. At less than a third of the price of a Victorinox SwissChamp I think it's fair to say you get what you pay for, which is something that can be sacrified without too much concern.The rest of the tools, like the pliers, feel fairly robust and decently machined with no rogue sharp exterior edges. It's definitely better than some of the knock off Swiss Army knives I've come across, provided you have reasonable expectations and accept that you may want to sharpen or file certain edges. Some of the tool layers have a bit of sideways flex that you'd never get with an official knife, apparently due to backsprings that don't exactly match the tools, and I assume the steel is nothing special. It's unfortunate that this includes the opener layer since a large flathead screwdriver tends to be used by people for prying things. Tools such as the saw and file aren't quite aligned well enough to return to position without being slightly guided into place, which I think is because on a real SAK the small flathead screwdrivers would be thicker and e.g. the saw would have a hilt that's wider than the cutting edge.To be fair the parts aren't super thin, but are definitely a fraction thinner than cellidor scale SAKs and much less solid than those on alox models. Roughly 30mm including scales versus 33mm quoted by SAKWiki. I'd fully expect the corkscrew to snap off if used to open a bottle of wine because the base isn't quite as reinforced, for example, but it'd probably do for helping to unpick knots. Various other points are that the awl isn't sharpened, the tweezers are fully metal, the toothpick is strangely small and the glasses screwdriver has thinner spiral (either there's a patent that's still valid on the real ones or the factory has used a different manufacturing process to get a tiny driver into a plastic surround) although unlike some other reviewers elsewhere there were no problems with nail nicks or stiffness. The magnifier has a very small usable area, but works to some extent and is in a metal surround.As a kid I'd have been delighted with this. As an adult with various real SAKs (Swiss Army is a trademark in this context, not just a generic term, and Victorinox knives are very well-made) plus other multi-tools, this would only be a choice of carry where it's be likely to be lost and where not much is at stake in terms of needing something reliable. Or as a curiosity and desk toy.

It seems I’m the first to write a review, rest assured I write as I see and find. First of all there is no Compass, second of all the discount for purchasing two items was not applied!Now I have the original Swiss Army knife and this is a very good copy, side by side you would be hard pushed to spot the difference.. I’ve had my SA knife for twenty years or more and it’s served me well and is still as good as new. So I bought two of the Swiss Eagle knives as gifts… There are three areas that the SE falls short of the SA knife accessories, the plastic toothpick is flimsy, the tweezers are easily bent and the screw in micro screwdriver is not as sturdy.. Comparing the weight of the two I would suggest the SE comes in ever so slightly heavier.Other than that I believe the SE knife represents very good value and I would recommend for self use or as a gift that should last a long time and give good service.

So I'm going to test this re how it holds up for how long. Ease of use isn't much because so many features are crammed into this. For the same reason, using the OG Swiss Champ can be challenging, but it's noticeably easier, I'm finding. This apparent knockoff could be a great value for the money, or instead a disappointing waste, depending upon expectations and intentions. Because the Victorinox product feels more precisely constructed and seems finer finished. Still, I plan use this to the max and thoroughly check out the functionality going forward in good fun, with hope and optimism.

So I own a Swiss Champ, and I had someone constantly bugging me wanting a SAK of their own. I didn't have the money to spare, came across this in blue, and that friend wanted this thing. So I was kind and bought it for them, got it in the mail, and when I compared it to my Swiss Champ this thing is a joke.The magnifying glass barely works, the awl isn't sharp with the sewing needle so far down its unwieldy, the file cannot file anything, the screwdriver cannot unscrew my door, the mini screwdriver is barely there, and the chisel is unusable with the same going for most of the sharp implements. I can go on, but it feels like you're buying 1/4th of a Swiss Champ.As for the things that kinda work on it... The scissors work, the main blade if you sharpen it I can see being okay, the bottle opener and corkscrew isn't too bad, and they give you a belt sheath for this thing. I know my friend will be ecstatic to get it because of all the clicky tools, but compared to the real deal this is a horrible imitation. I'd never buy this for myself.

The finger groove on main blade not deep enough makes opening blade difficult.
