Got book today. Read 3 chapters already. Hard to put it down. Gives intro to three aspects of phonetics (here’s my non expert translation to simple terms) how speech sounds are produced, signal processing of speech, how the auditory system captures speech. The last chapter of the book is about tools for measurement. I’m really excited about the book as a native English speaker adult trying to learn a tonal language.
