This petite bone was ideal for my long coat Chihuahua pups, it's still going strong and they're 18 months (my first chi also had one that lasted him his entire life - nearly 12 years).However bigger breeds such as a 10 week old Goldie or Rottie, or even smaller breeds that are strong chewers, terriers for example, will chew it to pieces in no time, they could even run the risk of swallowing it as it is quite tiny. Nylabone do a whole range of puppy teething chews and cater for all sizes and chewing strengths. So if this bone isn't quite right I'm sure they'll have one that is.Hope this helps you and your pup. x **Q: My dog in two days has chewed lots of bit off, I have picked up, Will it hurt and should this happen.** A: I wrote a review + picture of this ages ago saying it was positively dangerous! I would take it off your dog immediately. I had a Miniature Schnauzer puppy who is not an aggressive chewer and he managed to demolishes most of the end the first time I gave it to him. I think the bits will hopefully come out the other end (didn’t spot any!!) but as well as meaning they ingest plastic the danger is that the dog could bite off a largish piece and choke. Nolylabone have never bothered to explain or query my review. In my opinion Amazon should stop selling it. **Q: Is this edible to puppies please am my puppy loves it but it’s slowly going down unsure if this is suppose to happens** A: This is definitely NOT edible!! I do understand your confusion as I was similarly uncertain at first as my puppy immediately began eating it. I posted a 1 star review & picture saying that it was positively dangerous and the manufacturer should cease selling it. My Miniature Schnauzer puppy (not an aggressive chewer) had it for a couple of days and had already eaten quite a few bits of the plastic. He could easily have choked on a broken off piece. The manufacturer has a ‘get out’ clause because it says on them ‘Should only be used under supervision’ I suggest you bin it immediately.
