It sticks well but it's reasonably easy to take the items you glued apart should you so wish, although you may get some glue residue on one or both of the surfaces, and it can leave a thin layer of one surface on the other if you unstick them. **Q: Would this work to hold a large rip in a pair of shorts together while i sew around it?** A: Yes. The last batch had ordered ended up being a brown colour - e.g. old stock and the adhesive qualities very poor. Bostick is great for what you are outlining in terms of material - you will find that there is no need to sew the item. These have been for small areas only. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Versatile glue *by D***Y on 19 August 2025* This is a very good and versatile glue especially useful on fabric. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent product *by C***R on 30 September 2025* Excellent product ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A good glue... but not quite as good as it used to be. *by T***F on 27 July 2015* I've used Bostik All Purpose for many years now, and it's an excellent all-round glue, that sticks many different types of materials well. In using it in the past, its plus points would include the non-instant grip time of 10 minutes or so, allowing for adjustments if needed, but not waiting for hours for it to grip, and it being transparent, so ideal for all kinds of coloured materials in need of repair. However, they seemed to have changed the formula in some way with this glue. It certainly comes out of the tube faster as it's clearly thinner than before - don't even think about squeezing the tube when first using, or you will end up with a LOT of glue! - and it also seemed to grip significantly faster. I had a drop of glue land on my fingers, and within a few seconds, it was already drying, which seemed surprising considering the tube still insisted on a "10 minute drying time." This certainly wasn't the case in the past, so if you've used this before, it's something you should bear in mind. Minus points? I'm not too enamoured with the faster drying, as it gives less time to adjust and re-position. And if you're looking for a glue that is heat resistant, weather or water proof, or exposed to extreme cold, this isn't for you. (It was never sold with that in mind, either.) However, if you're in need of a general purpose glue that is reasonably strong, clear and sticks a wide variety of materials, this a good glue.
