I decided in my last house that a high-end dishwasher is appropriate in a small house because there is no place to hide from the noise. I have trouble knowing if it's running because the sound is typically covered up by the refrigerator! Aah! I'm not a plumber that's installed hundreds of dishwashers, but I've dealt with a few. A really weird thing to me is that the water and power are supplied at the front, the water on the left, and the power on the right. I had to run the water all the way to the front of the cabinet under my sink and through a hole in the bottom of the cabinet. The water hose is not visible unless you decide to crawl around on the floor, but it could be a problem if you need to bring the water in from the right. The power cord can be run through a channel underneath the dishwasher. I had understood that most newer dishwashers come with a normal power plug, but this one didn't. I bought amazon's superduper interplanetary universal installation kit, which included a cord with plug but no strain relief for the cord. So... trip to Big Box.
