With its iconic board and easy setup, it’s the ultimate game night staple for adults seeking a blend of fun, challenge, and social connection. ## Description For Adults for 2 to 24 players Review: A great game to keep the brain active - We bought Trivial Pursuit on retiring, having played it with our children when they were young (typical of kids they kept the game themselves). This version of the game, Genus Edition, is the original game and dates back to the 80's. Due to our ages we found this addition perfect for us as it covers the period of our knowledge, however it would be nice to get an additional set of questions which cover a later period - the trouble with a lot of questions available today is that they have an American bias. A very enjoyable game often played and well worth the 5* as there is nothing comparable on the market. Review: Pleasantly surprised. Thank you. - I bought the game for myself and boyfriend with a very open mind as the description said it had slight damage I did wonder wether all the pieces would arrive. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that not only were all the pieces there but all sealed and perfect condition apart from the outer box that had minimal damage that did not effect the game 😁 ## Features - Warning:Not suitable for children under 14 years. For use under adult supervision - The original edition with game board, pawns (pies and wedges) and complete instructions - Great questions from art, sports, literature, geography, entertainment, science and nature, and more - 6000 tantalizing questions - Works with other subsidiary card editions - Have fun testing your wit, knowledge, wisdom ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0009RGXPK | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Age range (description) | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | 473,712 in Toys & Games ( See Top 100 in Toys & Games ) 9,371 in Board Games (Toys & Games) | | Brand | Smartbuy | | Brand Name | Smartbuy | | Colour | Blue Black | | Container Type | Snap closure pouch | | Customer Package Type | Standard Packaging | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 out of 5 stars 217 Reviews | | Edition | Genus Edition | | Educational Objective | To test wit and wisdom through trivia questions covering art, sports, literature, geography, entertainment, science, and nature. | | Grenre | Trivia | | Included Components | Game board, Pawns, Instructions, Branch cards | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Indoor | | Is Assembly Required | No | | Item Dimensions | 35.6 x 30.5 x 12.7 centimetres | | Item Part Number | No. 7 | | Item Type Name | board game | | Item Weight | 4.95 Pounds | | Manufacturer | Trival Pursuit | | Manufacturer Part Number | 7 | | Manufacturer recommended age | 0 - 8 years | | Material | Paper | | Material Type | Paper | | Model Name | Master Game | | Model Number | 7 | | Model Year | 1960 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Number of Players | 2 | | Number of players | 2 | | Operation Mode | Manual | | Other Special Features of the Product | Portable | | Package Quantity | 1 | | Product Style | Classic | | Rulebook Availability | True | | Set Name | Genus Edition | | Size | Small | | Theme | Sports | | UPC | 698887876841 799783745566 111790932614 025235000076 699107395616 | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | ## Product Details - **Age range (description):** Adult - **Brand:** Smartbuy - **Material:** Paper - **Number of players:** 2 - **Theme:** Sports ## Images ![Trivial Pursuit: Master Game - Genus Edition - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71IvatUereL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Why is it called the genus edition?** A: It’s the original edition that came out in 1981 **Q: Is this the 2015 Master Edition?** A: Did not purchase in 2015. Excellent condition Trivial Pursuit Master Game - Genius Edition. Dates show Copyright date of 1981 and Game No. 7. **Q: Can you tell me what the difference is between the genus edition and the collectible edition offered? is the collectible a genus?** A: I bought the original Genus edition in the mid 70s (I think) and it was very popular with everyone (remember there was no cable, VCRs, 15 or 20 broadcaststations, smart phones, and computers). Any info you absorbed was from newspapers and WALTER CRONKITE OR HUNTLY & BRINKLEY. Goodnight Chet, goodnight David and so on. Anybody under the age of 30 today thinks Joan of Arc was NOAH'S WIFE and my father fought in world war eleven. Anyway the collectible edition is just an updated version of the original GENUS EDITION. A year later they came out with the BABY BOOMERS, SILVER SCREEN, ANDSPORTS EDITIONS. I hope this helps you. I'm 71 years old and I've never lost, I wonder why???? If you can't remember the name of your first girlfriend then you shouldn't play T.P.
