I bought this card for my Canon EOS 400D, and I was pleased to see when I turned the camera on that it cheerfully displayed "1587" to show me how many raw shots could be recorded before I'd have to change cards. Woohoo! Having bought a 2Gb SanDisk Extreme IV with the camera, I didn't want to spend a fortune on spare cards so I did some research on the web to find out exactly how fast a card needs to be before the write speed of the camera falls short of the card and you are paying for "unused extra speed". I have found it difficult to find accurate sources on the web but it seems that a 133x card should be more than adequate for storing data as fast as an EOS 400D can supply it. Which of course means a less congested buffer and more shots in a row in burst mode! I have done some simple tests with this Transcend card compared to my Extreme IV, and superficially at least there is no appreciable difference in performance. I have read that the larger memory address space of high capacity cards can slow down data writing slightly as compared to smaller cards, so I will not be going higher than 16Gb. I will be buying a few more of these babies before I go off around the planet! ** Update follows (26 Mar 09) ** Since writing this review I have upgraded to the delicious Canon EOS 40D (see my review on the kit version for the low-down). The performance of the Canon EOS 40D with the Transcend 133x 16Gb card is noticeably poor compared to both the 2Gb and 4Gb versions of the SanDisk Extreme IV range. Since I do a lot of high speed shooting, I therefore sold my Transcend card with my Canon EOS 400D. So, if you are a 400D/Rebel user, this card will do fine speed-wise and it is a LOT of storage at a low price. However if you are a Canon 40D user, and you want the full shooting speed, you will probably want a faster card. I have recent reviews on the 2Gb and 4Gb SanDisk Extreme IV cards which will help you decide how fast your cards need to be.

Bought this to use as a replacement hard disk in a sixth gen iPod Classic (120GB). It had been dropped one too may times, and the existing drive was clicking and freezing badly, but replacement mechanical drives are still pretty expensive. I had bought a cheap ZIF to CF adaptor from Ebay, along with the necessary tools to split the iPod apart (about £5 all in). Got this CF card as it offered a good size for the price, and the lower speed of this card was not an issue for music playback as the bitrate is only 320kbps. The card has been great - worked straight away after a reformat with iTunes, showing 30GB of space. Upload of music was fast, and performance in use has been excellent, with near-instant restart from pause, quick track selection etc. The iPod is also marginally lighter, and the battery life is good. Recommended if you want to convert your classic to SSD storage.

I have a Sony HDV Z7E Camcorder, which can record on mini DVcam tape and/or compact flash in either SD or HDV. The problem is the card it comes with is just 8gb, which limits the compact flash recording time to 32mins. So I've been looking for something bigger and after hearing good things about this card on the broadcast forums I opted for the 32gb Transend and I haven't been disappointed. Now with a single 32gb card I can get 142 minutes of footage and with two cards I can cover most jobs. The DVraw files have worked faultlessly and the best thing is they load onto my Mac faster than real time. Great price, great product, I can't recommend it enough.

I bought this CF card a few months ago and it has been working fine in my Canon EOS400D. However, today I formatted the card in my camera only to find it had reduced capacity to 8GB. I then put the card in my card reader and formatted the card back to 16GB. My camera DID NOT like this! When I switched the camera on with the card reformatted it said there was a problem with the CF card and to replace it. So I tried reformatting it a few times in both Windows (XP) and Ubuntu Linux, same problem every time. I couldn't even reformat it in the camera back to 8GB. I did find a solution eventually which was "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool" - a free download online. I formatted with this at 16GB and all is well again. Just thought i'd write this incase anyone else has the same problem.

Bought 2 Transcend 16Gb 133x Compact Flash SD Card and the price was a total bargain! 32 for a 16Gb card is something you don't find every day. In terms of speed it is pretty satisfactory not a super super fast card for full Raw photography in continuous shot mode but in single shot it's good. I use it for filming on a canon 5D and 7D and for video it works great, totally recommend these if your making movies on a DSLR. Haven't had a single overheating problem with them and have been filming day long shoots. For filmaking you wont find better CF card with this price! Will totally buy more of these Cf cards in the future!

I own a 2002 vintage Fujifilm / Nikon Finepix S2 Pro. This has a CCD 6 megapixels sensor. This camera will accept 1 GB or 2 GB Compact Flash (CF) cards but not higher capacity CF cards. As soon as I installed this card the camera came to life and I was able to take some beautiful film-like images. No problem loading the pdf files into my picture processing application. So I can recommend this card for use in this specific camera.

Introduction: I recently purchased a new Canon 5D Mark II camera. And while I love it the images are huge and my old 8GB cards would only hold around 250 - 260 photos. I got sick and tired of having to swap out cards just when I'm lining up the prefect shot. Review: I received this new Transcend 32GB card yesterday and promptly loaded it into my 5D Mark II, formatted it and headed to the zoo. This card did NOT disappoint! It was so good to see the images remaining counter max out at 999 on my 5D Mark II for the first time. And you can shoot high definition videos and multiple images just like you can on a faster card!! In Camera Speed: My faster cards "Transcend 266X Extreme Speed 8 GB cards" do NOT seem faster in the 5D Mark II then this 32GB 133x card at all. I get the exact same 13 RAW or 52 JPEG's before slowing down in continuous shooting! Now once it slows down of course it's slower, but, I usually only need a burst of 5 to 10 shots to get something anyway. Think about your shooting style and go from there, fast and furious order something faster otherwise this card just might fit the bill. I blazed through the zoo using my normal style of 3 to 5 shots a burst getting over a thousands stills with no noticeable difference in speed and felt the freedom at last to just shoot and shoot. I also recorded an HD video of 14 minutes no problem and a to the limit low res 29 min 59 second video. There is NO hesitation and no difference. Download Computer Speed: I then headed home. And that's where the one weakness reared its head. Downloading to my Mac. It was half the speed of my 266x card when downloading to the computer. But hey I'm at home now and speed is not an issue. I simply start the download, go put away my gear, grab a snack and drink from the kitchen and it's done. Recommendation: If you need a lot more room on your Compact Flash card and are sick and tired of running out of space and download speed isn't an issue this card is for you. I highly recommend especially for Canon 5D Mark II owners. 5-2-2009 Update: I found out there are some situations that this car is not fast enough for after all especially when saving 25 mb raw files in rapid succesion. While great for land scapes or museum and even renaissance festivals it's just not fast enough when the pace really heats up. I recently photographed Hugh Jackman and the cast of X-Men Origins: Wolverine at the World Premiere in Tempe AZ and there were moments where I could have gotten some really cool shots that I missed because the card was still writing. On the other hand I'm sure I got some shots I might not have gotten if I had a load of smaller faster cards and was swapping them out. I still love this card especially for landscapes and slow paced photography and will keep it but am now looking for a faster, high capacity brother card to compliment it. [...]
