Excellent camera and very versatile
Feels good in the hand and have had excellent results. Mainly motivated to buy it for the superzoom lens which has opened up all sorts of new possibilities, without the hassle of changing lenses. Getting too old for that!

Gutted
** edit: I have just had a response that the typical average life of this camera is 2 years. So just be warned when considering purchasing one of these. I would never have bought one had I known. For the past 2 years I would have given this 5 stars due the great photos taken with it. Unfortunately, the ribbon that connects the screen to the camera has developed a fault and now I am unable to use the camera. It is out of warranty and Canon have emailed to say their standard repair costs are £130. I would have expected such an expensive camera to last longer than 2 years. Very disappointed. Had great fun with it with Fantastic results, but gutted as I saved for so long to buy it and now can't afford to repair it, after only 2 years of very careful use.

Amazingly flexible bridge camera
An excellent camera overall, takes pictures every bit as good as my old Pentax K20D with fewer lens artifacts and distortions in a much smaller, lighter package. Why only 4 stars: it's too easy to set the autofocus onto the wrong subject/area by accidentally touching the screen whilst moving it or positioning the camera. By the time you've adjusted the settings (difficult to do if you are holding the camera aloft etc) you miss the shot.

Worth every penny!
This camera is a quality piece of kit. I am by no means a photographer, but find this very easy to use and produce stunning pictures and videos.

High quality images: super wide to tele
This is a great camera. The quality of the images - even at 600mm - is simply breathtaking. The all (mostly) metal construction is very reassuring and it has masses of features and flexibility.

fantastic piece of kit
Tried it, played with it, fantastic piece of kit, but didn't buy. A camera like this really has to have a viewfinder. Panasonic do them, Sony do them but still not Canon.

Terrible camera - unreliable
I have purchased several of these for business use. Every single one of these have the same faults. They don't always focus when videoing - often going in and out of focus, the record button often sticks so it either doesn't start or stop filming, the zoom often sticks. Worst camera I have ever purchased. The picture and video quality is excellent when it works, but complete waste of money since it doesn't work reliably
