I made the mistake of not discussing where the island pendant lights would be placed with my electrician. Once it's time for me to cut the speaker holes, I realize I have to move two of the speakers given the light placement. While I left enough slack to move them about 3 feet in any direction, their new placement was going to put them in another floor joist bay. This made access to both of the speaker wires near impossible unless I cut a hole in the ceiling that would need patching later; not fun. Decided against that and went with this camera.I was able to drill a small hole through the floor joist for the camera to enter the adjacent bay. From here, I was able to locate the two speaker wires and fish them through to the new location. The LED light on the end of the camera made this possible, otherwise it would have been total darkness. The resolution was quite nice considering the size of the camera. A couple times I had to pull the camera out of the inspection hole and remove dust/debris from the face... nothing too big. The app worked great and autostarted once I connected the camera to my phone (Moto Z Force).I would describe the cable as semi rigid. It is rigid to a point... perhaps after 4 of 5 feet it starts to become harder to control the direction you want it to go ( at least in my scenario through a tiny access hole). Nonetheless, it worked fine for what I needed it for.I've already shown the camera to 3 friends. They can't believe it's only $17. No brainer. If it ever stops working (I've already put about 2 hours on mine), I'll gladly buy another. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Camera - make sure your phone port is working! *by M***K on Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2018* I bought this to look inside my auto hvac plenum to see if a blend door was moving. I borrowed my friend's DeWalt inspection camera and this camera was way better than his $200 camera. I like how long the cable is and that I was able to control the light brightness. In addition, the narrow camera end along with the semi rigid cable made it easy to maneuver.I had issues with it working on my Samsung Galaxy S6. I contacted the company and they were great with responding. They sent me some troubleshooting steps and when that did not work they sent me another camera to test out. Found out that the port on my phone seems to be damaged and will not transfer data. The S6 has a micro USB port and this camera comes with a USB Type C port, which are the newer ports and better in my opinion. However, they also ship it with a micro USB and USB adapter to use on a phone or on a PC.Bottom line; for the price you can't beat it. I am also going to use it in my home walls to look for routing wires but there are so many uses for it especially since it has a 10 ft. cable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Works with PC, image OK *by B***H on Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2019* For eighteen dollars, this little inspection camera is a bargain. Worked fine out of the box, once I got the right software. Image is OK. It's pretty sharp in the recommended 2" to 4" range. The image is usable for short distances outside this range.I was not able to download the "pc.rar" software from the manufacturer's site as I couldn't find a link for it. The instruction brochure suggested trying VLC Media Player, a free PC app that will open a wide variety of image and media files. It's free with a small donation requested. I've used it off and on for years and like it a lot.To get started, try these steps:Download and install VLC.Plug in inspection camera using USB adapter to a USB port on your PC (laptop or desktop).Start VLCGo to Media tabOpen Capture DeviceOpen Video Device Name. Click on name box and "USB 2.0 camera" should appear. Click on this to highlight.Click on Play.
