All my allotment weeds/green waste is in a pile and need to do something about it....thanks** A: Yes this product will break down most garden green waste, and will not kill any worms that may be in your bin, we use this when ever we think it is in need and after having had a lot more green put in. Dose a very good job we have had some good compost from ours . So hope this helps your problem. **Q: Is this adding Carbon or Nitrogen to the compost bin?** A: Its adding task specific natural composting bacteria and fungi to the pile to generate heat and breakdown and sterilise compost quickly and effectively. **Q: Can I add it to rotating tumbler? The manufacturer does not recommend adding liquid as it slows down the process...** A: I am no expert but I would suggest that you only add a bit at a time as I have 2 x tumbler composters & both types hold their moisture very well. I would also suggest that if you have old dried out spent compost or other dry compost materials then you could add more liquid. Its a case of trial & error but you definitely don't want soggy compost it should be moist for faster composting & tumbled on a daily basis. Add blood fish & bone to the mix as that adds nutrients & also speeds up decomposition. If you can find any red worms in the bottom of an old compost pile add them as they also help break down material & make vermi compost. **Q: Will this work simply on food waste? Amazing! *by H***E on 12 December 2020* I read the glowing reviews for this compost accelerator and knew I had to give it a go myself. I have used Envii products before and know they are great quality and do deliver. I followed the instructions closely and to the letter. All our compost bins are very full due to having a large garden, cooking a lot (loads of veggie bits go in composters) and putting our outdoor pet waste in there (from my rabbits & chickens). I don't add any paper or anything that doesn't naturally belong in a compost bin/heap. Using the product: I dissolved one tablet in 5ltr warm water for between 30 - 60 minutes as directed. Once this was done I used a garden fork to make a well in the center of each heap and poured the water via a watering can into the center of the piles (each heap had a tablet each). I then infilled the holes with the material inside each bin and replaced the lids to keep as much heat in as possible. I can see that some people found it made the contents of their bins too wet, I think if you don't have a lot in them you need to adjust accordingly. My compost seems OK and not too wet. Today it was a week since I added the Envii Accelerator and I had cleaned out my rabbits and chickens, whose droppings and sawdust I add to the compost each week. I dug each bin over fairly well, as soon as each lid came off I could smell that the materials inside are breaking down, the center of each heap was also warm. I had also noticed that there were a lot of worms in the compost this time, they seem to have been attracted to the bins since adding this magic ingredient. I am looking forward to having great compost within the new few months, maybe sooner! If they are broken down well before Spring I will bag up the compost and store it and start the bins off again.
