If it is allowed to be idle for so long that the inbuilt battery goes completely flat, it will not accept a charge! So if you only use a presentation remote infrequently, this may not be the tool for you. I wonder, but don't know, if the new units that are being sent out that people are saying won't charge have been in storage for so long that they are also flat. Regardless, it is disappointing. 1. I have other remotes and simply bought this because of its spotlight and amplification lens capabilities! When using spotlight over the web (on a webinar or online training) people get so surprised that they need to ask how did I do it! And that helps to create a unique presentation! The regular price is high although materials are of very good quality! I bought the gold one because it is much cheaper than the grey.
