My physiotherapist recommended icing it regularly, so I started looking for something a little more practical than a bag of frozen peas.After doing some online research, I decided to give this gel ice sleeve a try, and I’m really glad I did.The material is very soft and comfortable, and the gel stays soft and flexible even when frozen. It cushions my ankle nicely and is so soft not at all harsh or uncomfortable against my skin. It gets sufficiently cold for me and stays cold for about the amount of time typically recommended for icing an injury.I personally wear it over a thin sock. This helps keep the sleeve clean and also prevents the cold from coming into direct contact with my skin. I have a circulatory condition and am quite sensitive to cold, so this makes it much more comfortable for me. If you’re less sensitive, you could certainly wear it directly on your skin.I’m so happy with this purchase that I’m considering buying a second one so I can keep one in the freezer while using the other.Even after my ankle has fully healed, I think I’ll continue using these sleeves.
