Can i camp over a fire?

Several times I've put the pot and pan right in the edge of a camp fire. Whether I should be doing that, I don't know, but I've had no problems thus far

I dont think so. Its 4.25" ish inside without cup, bowl, or handle.

How does it compare to the gsi stainless mess kit? i'm wondering if this is thinner or not.
