Is there a way to disable the auto gain control?

Consulting the datasheet for the Pin-14 (TH) function we see: Pin-14 AGC Threshold Control. TH voltage sets gain control threshold. Connect TH to MICBIAS to disable the AGC. MICBIAS is Pin-13. However neither of these IC pins are brought out to the PCB header, so you will have to link the pads out on the PCB, this can be accomplished by shorting the pads of 150k resistor R1 on the underside of the board. Unfortunately there is no PCB annotation for this resistor! Therefore from my examination of the artwork (available on the web) and looking at the board itself, this resistor is the only 150k fitted and is is located at the right hand side of the chip as the upper most SMD part viewed with the header on your left. However to be sure I would advise a search for the module on the web and you should be able to find the circuit and PCB (Eagle) layout along with the MAX9814 datasheet to confirm this link modification.

What type of enclosure did you use? Do you have something that can be printed on a 3D printer?

I just fitted it in a plastic box, it was to monitor sound in an engine test cell.
