When operating the National Library service's digital book machine, I have some admittedly unusual habits. First, I download 900 or so books onto a 64-GB flash drive. The more that will fit, the better--what if I get stranded in a blizzard, without the Internet, and have only the digital player for company? Shouldn't I have access to a "library" at all times? I then connect my flash drive to the port on the outside of the NLS player, and I'm good to go--until I'm ten minutes into a book, discover that it's repulsive to my moral or literary sense, and must repeat the process. All of this involves quite a bit of flash-drive work. NOW, enter dysautonomia, a condition mandating that I use the remote control system because my arms grow too tired to reach up and toward the unit. Farewell, USB port. My new solution was to operate the unit with the remote and insert my multitudinous-book flash drive into the cartridge slot. But that slot really is designed mostly for NLS book cartridges--fitting the flash drive in there required finesse, sighted assistance, someone with stronger hands than mine, and usually pliers. It was a tedious process; I went from controlling my own library content multiple times a day, to asking a nurse if she would be up for DOING the flash drive, usually a week in advance. Needless to say, the whole situation was quite frustrating. But then I began wondering--what if I inserted a USB extender cord into the cartridge slot, then connected the other end to a flash drive? It would still increase my fatigue, but I could then determine whether the fatigue would be worth it, and I wouldn't have to make library downloads a monthly activity. Sadly, the first cord I tried wasn't compatible, and I nearly gave up. HOWEVER--and this is the point of my ramble--this cord IS compatible with all NLS equipment! Insert it into the cartridge slot or the USB port, whichever you choose, and connect either the flash drive or the remote control device, and it will beep and chatter merrily away. I love being able to manage my own content again! When I read a blurb on the Perkins website assuring prospective buyers that this was the cord they wanted if they were searching for something NLS-compatible, I was skeptical. Bought with a USB wall wart to power some portable disco lights that take USB power. It works for that.

Its Belkin. Its USB. Its an extension cable. Its all these things and well thats it, but it does all these things very well. As one would expect from Belkin. When ya need a few more feet of USB - this is the way.

Simple, works perfectly, and I have no concerns of build quality

It is great to be able to plug a memory stick into as it is much easier to change what you plug in rather than plug what you want in on your computer Or even in your vehicle that way your plug on your unit does not start giving you problems and the cord can be replaced easily if it needs to be from a bad connection like in my vehicle i do not have to try to reach where it is plugged in as i just sits on my console along with a small case of memory sticks with music i like on them so it is super easy to change memory sticks using this extension cord.

Does exactly what it says it does. I actually never used it as it came. Instead I cut it in half and spliced it onto either end of some cat5e cable that I already had ran inside my wall from my computer to my tv to put a IR reciever for a pc remote. Works great. I have always been happy with Belkin products and this is no exception.

es una extension 2.0 no es para alta velocidad, pero es de muy alta calidad, yo he comprado varias de esta marca y de todos los tamaños sirven excelente expandir un puerto usb 2.0 sin perder nada de fidelidad, por ejemplo tengo uno que pasa por debajo de mi escritorio oculto y así cuando necesito cargar el magic trackpad o el magic keyboard puedo hacerlo sin problemas, también tengo otro que va de la pared y llega junto al sillón, para si estoy jugando ps4 y el control se queda sin carga puedo conectar el cable y seguir jugando cómodamente, llegue a utilizar varias extensiones de diferentes marcas y esta es sin duda la mejor, tal como lo digo es únicamente 2.0 así que transmite fielmente los 480mps, si necesitas algo para carga rápida o para conectar memorias o discos usb 3.0, les recomiendo buscar una extension que sea 3.0.

Cable básico y cumple su función, me sirvió bastante por lo largo ya que lo uso con un equipo a distancia, la transferencia de archivos muy bien. Aun a pesar de ser 2.0 tiene una velocidad bastante decente.

The device i needed the cable for originally came with the identical USB extension cable, over a few years the male end was damaged and so required replacement. With this new cable the device is now working as before. It arrived within 24 hours in excellent/band new condition. No complaints.
