## Description

The SansBug has been used by the US and Canadian military, disaster relief responders, researchers and doctors in remote regions. It is the gold standard summer camp gear for Scouts to use on cots in canvas tents or Adirondack cabins.
It can also be used to meditate in nature, read and tan in the backyard and let cats and small pets enjoy the outdoors! Roomy, lightweight, portable and durable, the SansBug pops open in ONE second and folds down in less than 10 seconds!

For the past 16 years, tens of thousands of campers have used the 1-person tent on a camping cot. The SansBug is longer and wider than a cot so that you can comfortably sleep without touching the netting. If it was the same size, you would touch the netting and be bit. Furthermore, the overhang allows you to store a change of clothes and gear without rolling over them. The narrower shelters force you to sleep in one position and can feel claustrophobic.

For tents that are narrow, we suggest positioning the cots sideways (rotate 90°) so the slope of the SansBug aligns with the slope of the canvas wall tent as shown in the picture.
Folding the SansBug is not intuitive. Even if you are a rocket scientist, you still need to watch the demo videos multiple times. The paper manual is only supplementary and the videos are crucial. Once you understand the steps, folding will only take seconds. The ease of setup and takedown will save you an hour a day.
You can get the hang of it for one summer and you’ll think you got it down but you DO need to watch the video AGAIN the following year BEFORE going to camp (there might not be WiFi).

## Questions & Answers

**Q: would it be suitable to use in hostel bunk beds?**
A: I don't see why not.  We used ours in a remote jungle lodge .  And daughter used it to camp ouside and to escape the bugs

**Q: What kind of 'floor' does this have?**
A: The "floor" is like a thin plastic groundsheet. Similar to a regular tent.

**Q: Does it protect from the sun? Does it create any shade?**
A: The net is pretty much for protection from bugs, not the sun.

**Q: Do you think it would be possible to fit a mattress in it?**
A: I use one with a self inflating roll up camping mattress. The one I have it is possible to join 2 of them together and this would just fit inside. If you want to use it in for eg a single bed you would probably be better to just put it on top of the bed and use it with a sleeping bag inside or put a sheet down inside to lie on. Once my bed was invaded by bed bugs. I hired a bed bug specialist and he came over and sprayed the chemicals and he mentioned - the bugs will still be seen for 3 to 5 days. I couldn't sleep with that in mind, so I tried to use this product and it worked really well, none of the bugs can pass through this net and I can sleep well. Really recommend this to people in similar situation. And who really hate bed bugs.

This is the 11th no-bedbug-bite-day since starting to sleep inside my new SansBug tent. Previously I was being bitten daily or every other day. So I feel fairly sure of my ground when I say that I believe that bedbugs cannot enter a zipped-up SansBug tent. The thing that takes up my time is making sure I don't take bedbugs into the SansBug myself!They can hide in the seams of clothing and are very small, especially in the early life-cycle stages.So for bedbugs you have to treat the SansBug much like Nurses and Surgeons treat an operating theatre -do not enter it unless you have tried to make sure you are free of 'bugs'.Anything you wear in bed or cover yourself with only goes inside the SansBug after laundering above 40C, ideally 50C. And then it stays in there with the zip closed. -Until it comes out for re-laundering.Only open the zip when you need to, never leave it open.So now the SansBug is a bedbug-free-zone.If you leave the zip open or enter the SansBug wearing your street clothes, you are asking for trouble.Bedbugs aside, I like the way the SansBug folds-up, and the subsequent small space it takes up.
