Can the bolt come out either side - i.e be fitted on both the right hand and left hand side of the gate. Thanks in advance

Yes, you have to adjust the mechanism but the instructions show you what to do. I have two of these and they are each fitted the opposite way around, so it can be done!

What does the bolt slide into?

Our gate is in a brick arch and we cut a slit in the brickwork for the bolt to go in. The bolt comes with a "keep" to put on your post or wall

can this lock be relocked fromthe outside using the keypad side

Yes, the knob at the bottom (on either side) will slide the bolt home. It is automatically locked, as soon as the bolt is engaged and can only be opened by turning the knob back, which is not possible from the outside, until the code has been entered.
