First impressions they look more heavy duty and no thin plastic bits, so should be more durable. One last observation, we have the SMEG sitting out on the work top and to attach the slicer onto the mixer, do the job required and then wash the parts and put it away takes less than 10 minutes. (Only 3 parts to wash!) It is a big time saver as apposed to using a conventional food processor. Expensive yes, worth every penny YES!!
