(Been a tech for 23 years, specifically with electrical and computer diagnostics). Plugging this into the OBD2 port on a car gives me quick verification of battery power supplies at connector, grounds and CAN bus activity. The ability to tap into the banana connectors while a scan tool is plugged in also is fantastic for reading waveforms with an oscilloscope. Also checking overall CAN bus resistance unpowered using the banana plug taps makes diag much faster and more convenient than trying to GENTLY probe the OBD2 connector itself which sometimes are buried in the depths of a dashboard.
