can you buy the base seperatly

Each Mova globes comes with a set of acrylic base. We offer the optional bases such as crystal or wood base but doesn't list on Amazon webshop.

Is the Mova moon an actual representation of the real moon

I believe the print on the globe is taken from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter images. Check on the MOVA website for confirmation though.

I have just received my Jupiter globe and the top of the globe appears rather clouded. Is this normal or should I send it back?

Is the base transparent, could I put a light source under the base?

Yes the base is transparent and you could put a light source under it but I am not sure what benefit it would give. It seems to work in all light conditions, mine only stops when it is completely dark and it is on a mantelpiece over an iron fireplace. As soon as either natural light or artificial light hits it, it starts to rotate. A friend of mine put it down on his table while he was doing something with the base and it took itself off, so be careful.
