INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER! From Hannah Grace, author of the #1 New York Times bestselling Icebreaker , sparks fly when a one-night stand becomes a summer of forced proximity as camp counselors. When Maple Hills students Russ Callaghan and Aurora Roberts cross paths at a party celebrating the end of the academic year, a drinking game results in them having a passionate one-night stand. Never one to overstay her welcome (or expect much from a man), Aurora slips away before Russ even has the chance to ask for her full name. So both are surprised when they bump into each other on their first day as camp counselors, a place they both hoped would allow them to escape their complicated home lives for the summer. Russ hopes if he gets far enough away from Maple Hills, he can avoid dealing with the repercussions of his fatherโs gambling addiction, while Aurora is tired of craving attention from everyone around her and wants to go back to the last place she truly felt at home. Russ knows breaking the campโs strict no staff romance rule will have him shipped back home in no time. But unfortunately for him, Aurora has never cared about the rules. Can the two resist their smoldering chemistry? Or did their one night together start a fire they canโt put out? Review: Russ + Aurora - My god I donโt know what Hannah Grace is putting in her books but Iโm completely addicted!!! I absolutely LOVE Icebreaker and was worried this one wouldnโt be as good because it was set at a summer camp so I thought the amazing friend group from Icebreaker would be missing. Iโm so happy that not only was that not the case (I swear I giggled every time Henry made an appearance because Iโm so obsessed with him) but we also get some amazing new friends with Xander and Emilia. I honestly kinda hope we get a Xander book someday in the future. All the people we know and love from UCMH are still so involved in this story because they all love Russ so much and of course have their usual shenanigans lol Russ is such an amazing MMC and there were several times when heโd be explaining how he views his dad and their relationship because of his addiction where I just really felt seen for the first time in the way I view my own fatherโs addiction versus other addicts. Russ was also so great at making Rory feel wanted like she needed. He would say the sweetest things and every time heโd blush I fell more in love with him. Aurora is hilarious first of all. I would have had the exact same reaction if I felt something touch my foot in any body of water lol There were parts of Rory and her relationship with her dad that also made me feel seen. Itโs rare I think to be able to relate so much to both the FMC and the MMC on something so closely related. I think that just goes to show how amazing of a writer Hannah Grace is. Thereโs also a scene where Jenna is telling Rory that โdadโ is just a word without any action behind it and it was definitely an emotional conversation for me to read. Rory is just all around an amazing character. There definitely isnโt as much spice in this book as there is in Icebreaker. This goes from a one night stand to a slow burn. But because itโs Hannah Grace, the spice is spicing when you get to it. Finally - Iโm so excited that Henryโs book is next lol Spice: 2.5/5 Review: Healing, Heartbreak, and Heat: Why Wildfire Will Melt Your Heart! - So Wildfire by Hannah Graceโwhere do I even begin? ๐คฉ I was beyond excited to dive into this one because Icebreaker (aka my 5-star baby) really hit me right in the feels. Wildfire? Solid 4 stars for me, and here's why! Icebreaker was one of those reads where I was like, "Wow, this is basically me on paper." The connection? ๐ฏ. But Wildfire... I couldnโt quite fully relate to everything going down, which is why itโs not a five-star read. BUT that doesnโt mean it didnโt pull me in! Even though I havenโt personally lived through some of the experiences in this book, I still found myself empathizing with the characters like they were my own friends. And honestly, the way Hannah handled these heavier topics? Chefโs kiss. ๐๐ฝ Plus, she didnโt skimp on the romance! A mix of deep plot and spice? YES, please! ๐ถ๏ธ Let's talk about Russ (my heart ๐ญ). This guy has been through it with a father who struggles with a gambling addiction, and while I canโt imagine that life, I could totally feel his pain. He coped by cleaning all the time (seriously, my man is a pro cleaner ๐งผ), just trying to avoid his dadโs bad energy. And, ugh, that hit hard because I could relate to how we sometimes condition ourselves to avoid pain. I grew up in a traditional Hispanic household where discipline was strict (hello, survival mode), so seeing Russ fight for his own space and eventually stand up for himself? Major props to him! ๐๐ฝ Now, Auroraโs story? Equally heart-wrenching. She spent so much of her life fighting for her dadโs attention, only to see him giving all his love to his new family. ๐ฅบ Watching her go through that โwhatโs wrong with me?โ spiral was tough, but so real. And when she finally realizes, โNope, this was never about me, it was all him,โ I was cheering her on! ๐๐ฝ Oh, and the tension with her mom, who tried to overcompensate but ended up being overbearing? ๐ฌ So relatable! I have to give a shout-out to how Hannah weaves in all this emotional messiness while keeping the romance front and center. The spice? ๐ถ๏ธ๐ถ๏ธ๐ถ๏ธ. And while I didnโt relate to everything in Wildfire the way I did with Icebreaker, I still devoured it in a day. And honestly, Iโm so glad I did. This book really highlights how complicated, messy, and beautiful life can be, and Iโm here for all of it. ๐ Overall: 4 stars โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ, the spice is fire, and I canโt wait to see what Hannah serves up next!

Came Damaged with the Sprayed edges drawn on (Great Read Though)
I got the deluxe edition because I loved the book but physically it came damaged and with a black sharpie mark ON the Sprayed edges, and the zon won't let me get it replaced :( Usually when books come crushed on the edge like this I don't mind (it's not great but) but With the mark on the special sprayed edges and that this book is important to me, I am upset. Love the book book but if you are looking for a good quality special edition Look elsewhere.

A Fun Read!
First, the physical book itself is so visually appealing. I know they say donโt judge a book by its cover, but these books are so cute! I loved this story, and found it to be cute, lighthearted, and fun to read. Reading as a hobby should be fun and these books were so much fun to read! I love a silly little romance novel and this book series I couldnโt put down. If youโre looking for a fun, easy to read romance novel, this series is for you!

Not my favorite in the series but still a must read!
REVIEW: Maple Hills #2 - Wildfire, by Hannah Grace I started blindly with the audiobook. This was the first dual PoV audiobook I've listened to. Maybe the audiobook kind of got in the way for me. I'm a fast reader, and characters sound a specific way in my head. These particular narrators took me out of the story a bit. Once I switched to the e-reader, I had a better experience. I gave a max of 1 star each critical area: 1 - Characters: Russ and Aurora are loveable and endearing. They grow over time, and we still get to see some of our most beloved Maple Hills characters while meeting some new ones at camp. If you're an attachment theory fan, I'm going to guess Russ starts as a fearful avoidant, and Aurora starts as a dismissive avoidant. Disagree? Lmk! 0.5 - Plot: The main conflict was kind of hard to pin down. It felt like there were a lot of smaller conflicts, and overall we were waiting to see what Russ and Aurora would do once the summer was over, relationship-wise. It wasn't as compelling as Icebreaker, and I found that I needed to take breaks even while on my road trip because it felt too long winded at times. 1 - World building: The scenes at Maple Hills already have a well-built world. The camp and surrounding area was also well-described enough to be immersive. 1 - Originality: I haven't read a ton of non-fantasy romances. It definitely wasn't a clone of Icebreaker, and it feels very fresh due to the focus on working towards improving communication. 0.5 - Writing and flow: Something was just missing here, also mentioned in plot. I think it's that some moments felt unnecessary. Not necessarily fluff, but just not integral enough to the story, or perhaps there were too many minor plots. Spice: 3/5 - Scenes are more like sweet spicy due to the slow burn (after the initial encounter) nature of the story. - There are multiple open door scenes, but the majority of the book focuses on the tension of the MCs restraining themselves due to the rules at camp.

Different Story from Book 1
And I found that I enjoyed it. I definitely preferred the spice in book 1, and I did think book 1 was about 75 pages too long, so I was skeptical to read the second book in the series. I was pleasantly surprised! I think Hannah Grace captured the emotional ups and downs of the summer camp counselor experience. I like how the main characters were determined NOT to be miscommunicators, and they worked towards care and respect with some spice thrown in on the side. (Definitely the side bar to the story, so if you want a spicy read, this one won't satisfy.)

Steamy new adult romance
Wildfire is another entertaining new adult romance from Hannah Grace. Set in the world of Icebreaker, it is a light, steamy romance thatโs utterly enjoyable. โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Shy goalie Russ and seemingly flighty Aurora hook up at a Maple Hills end of the year party. But Aurora sneaks out afterwards, and doesnโt expect to see him again. Except she does, when it turns out they are both spending the summer as counselors at her beloved overnight camp. After an awkward beginning, though, it seems their biggest issue might be the campโs staff no fraternization policy. Can they keep a lid on their growing attraction and feelings? Russ is a sweet golden retriever hero who doesnโt think heโs good enough for Aurora. And, Aurora is the commitment-phobic character who canโt fathom how to be in a relationship. While both characters have pressing family issues, itโs fun watching them bring out the best in each other. I adored their โsecret for a secretโ exchanges, which managed to build their relationship and show off their growing chemistry. Wildfire clearly works as a standalone story. But if you liked Icebreaker, youโll enjoy this book too. And while Russ is a hockey player, this is a story about college students, not hockey. Sometimes a low angst book with likable characters is exactly what you are looking for in a romance, and Wildfire fits the bill. Wildfire is a light, steamy new adult romance. If you are a fan of likable college student characters with a hero who connects with actual golden retrievers, you will be entertained by this enjoyable book.

Wasnโt Bad, Wasnโt Great.
Cheers to book number 5.86 for October because (I have read 5and DNFโed 1 at 86%)๐ โข Title: #wildfire Author: @hannahgraceauthor Pub Day: October 3, 2023 Publisher: @atriabooks โข I saw Icebreaker ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA before I took the jump and read it earlier this month, so it was only fitting that I read Wildfire this month too! Although Wildfire was super cute, I can definitely say that I prefer romance books deep in the sports scene (hockey, baseball, basketball), with a bit more spice. โข I did really like how the female main character, Aurora, brought out the confident side of the male main character Russ. THAT DARE and SPICY JENGA!๐๐ Iโd feel all hot and bothered to Russ, so donโt be embarrassed. I also really enjoyed the #foundfamilytrope because I love seeing my favorite characters get what they deserve (especially since I do not have that in real life), so I live vicariously through them. โข Overall, Iโd rate the storyline/plot a โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ/5 stars and the smut/spicy scenes a ๐ถ๏ธ๐ถ๏ธ/5. I am going to share some of my favorite quotes below: 1. โPeople mistake me being quiet for being shy, but Iโm not shy. I prefer to sit and listen than be the focus of everything. There is too much pressure with being the center of attention. Iโm much happier being an observer, watching from the outsideโ. 2. โGeorge Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jeffersonโ. 3. โI have a habit of leaving a path of destruction in my wake, both literally and metaphoricallyโฆ. Like a wildfireโ.
