He is uber productive and is clearly passionate about what he does. Flicking through the pages alone makes you want to pick up your pen and start scribbling away, making this a very hard book to read and finish! But when you do stop and read the authors/artists words you quickly realise that there’s a lot more to this book than drawings alone. Felix will inspire anyone to get sketching regardless of their initial resistance. I bought this book for kindle (as I couldn’t wait for the hardback release) and I was pleasantly surprised to see how readable it is on the kindle app (for iPad). I suspect I’ll buy it as a physical book too as it’s such a good reference book but don’t be put off reading it digitally, if you have a high enough resolution screen to do the artwork justice. I use to do it when I was kid alot. This book gave me alot of inspiration and tips on how to redevelop my art again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Inspired me to embrace imperfection *by V***R on 26 March 2024* There are tons of books which teach you how to draw "better" - I own some really helpful ones. When I bought this book, I was actually looking for a something to teach me how to do "better" sketches, but I think the book has given me something more valuable than that: it's taught me that "better" is not the same as being more photorealistic, because great sketches can be characterful precisely *because* they aren't perfect. The book is teaching me to embrace my drawing imperfections as part of my style.The book is full of fun and excitement rather than more dull tutorials about the best way to do shading, and how to perfectly draw noses and hands. And sometimes it's good to have a dose of fun and excitement and to forgive and even celebrate the fact my sketches aren't perfect.The style of the book is a breath of fresh air compared to so many other art books which teach you how to copy and make your drawing look just like what you're looking at.
