Hope this was helpful :) **Q: Would this be good for voice over?** A: Hi Luke, In many ways the NT1-A is the ideal mic for studio narration where you can control the conditions i.e. by dampening the acoustics with curtains, screens, cushions etc. A useful test to check the dampening is to clap your hands and listen. In most cases, for narration the ambience needs to be reasonably flat. You will find the 'pop' screen supplied with the mic to be an asset. If you need further 'anti-popping' get hold of a foam wind gag. Another tip, when recording a male voice, you may need to 'lighten' it by introducing bass cut, if you have that facility on your recorder. If not use the (free download)Audacity program and go to 'Effects' where you can select and experiment with a degree of Bass cut. Without it, some studio mics can sound a bit 'woofy' although I've found the Rode to offer quite a nice bright sound without too much bass cut.
