Comfy, light and grippy!
I’ve been using t ty ese shoes every day for about a month now and am loving them. They’re super comfy and light and are great for walking and running. I’ve even been I’m using them for trail running and hiking with a heavy backpack and have had no blisters or pains on my feet that my hiking boots used to cause. The soles are actually quite grippy on the trials despite looking like flat ground tread. They have the perfect thickness of sole for ground feel while providing a bit of protection from rocks. Though after 2 full days of hiking with a heavy pack on rocks I think I’ll add a thinker insole to feel the rocks a bit less on long hikes. Awesome shoes though!

My husband’s favorite shoes — hands down!
I bought these Xero Crosstraining shoes for my husband when I first started getting into barefoot running and minimalist shoes. He was curious about them and wanted to try a pair for himself. He’s been wearing them for over a year now, mainly for hiking and casual wear, and he still says every single time he puts them on that they’re “the most comfortable shoes he’s ever worn.” He has always preferred shoes with a wide toe box (even before trying minimalist styles), so his feet didn’t require much adjustment. I’ve noticed that he actually stands up straighter in these — in his other shoes with even a small heel, he tended to lean forward a bit. For hiking, he used to wear heavy boots with thick soles and a higher heel, and he never tied them properly — the laces were always loose, which never made sense to me. But with these Xero shoes, he ties them snugly and loves the way he can feel the ground beneath his feet. The thinner sole provides him with better balance and a more secure connection to the trail. What’s even more impressive is how well they’ve held up. After a full year of use, they still look great. The soles aren’t worn down at all, and there are no signs of excessive wear or tear anywhere on the shoe. He genuinely enjoys wearing these shoes, and I can tell he’s not going back to traditional hiking boots anytime soon.

These shoes will (if you allow them to) change your way of moving for the better
I've been trying all kinds of different shoes for years--using them for sports of various kinds--but most specifically for running on the road (not trails). I had heard about "barefoot" style shoes, and their benefits, but wasn't sure about it. I've always had issues with back pain--especially if I go for longer runs. So I always thought that the answer was more cushioning. But what these shoes taught me was that the answer is NOT more cushioning, but less. Actually, almost NO cushioning is the answer. And it makes sense. The more your feet can feel themselves strike the ground, the more they can help the rest of your lower body adjust your stride and mechanics so that you're not putting unnecessary stress on your legs and back. The first time I wore these on a run (only 2 miles around some pavement), it went great. I noticed that I had to adjust my stride right away, to strike the ground more softly. But once I did that, it felt great. The next day, I felt muscles in my leg that I didn't even know I had! I could tell that I was recruiting a whole different set of muscles and tendons than I used to with really cushiony shoes. And that's helped strengthen my lower body much more effectively. The price of these shoes is well worth the benefit you get from working out in them.
