180g vinyl, limited edition!
This is a marvellous score. Reminscent of THE SHINING score (Penderecki, Bartรณk, Ligeti), but also of (in varying increments) John Barry, Angelo Badalamenti, and Japanese Noh theatre. The import vinyl sounds great. In the 60s this would have had a gatefold release, but I'm not complaining, at least it's on vinyl.Shame the film didn't get a proper UK release outside of London and hardly anyone's seen it. The Blu-ray should have been out by now for folk who can't travel 150 miles across counties to tiny cinemas that showed it for only a week. Roll on July when the Blu-ray will at last be released.

nowhere near as powerful as watching the film w. the sounds at the same time, but a dark moody lp.that lacks only in the fact that both of the labels on the lp were listed as 'A' and that they overdo the music from the sequence where the men sink in the black ooze....there's only so long you can listen to that native-drum thunking along. Had they brought in more variance it would have be a 5 star. Likewise, this is an lp for freaks. Dark deranged sounds for people of similar ilk. You will find your reptilian brain in here, but alas, there's no way out.

Stunning
Amazing, original and haunting. Mica Levi truly captures the essence of Glazer's artistic vision especially on the track "Love". Well worth the money.

As original and unique as the film.
Amazing music that is as unique as the film it was written for. Mesmeric one moment, seismic the next. But again, like the film, not for everyone....

Possibly the best abstract film soundtrack created
Buy it, your ears and Vinyl player will love you for it

Ermรผdend
Zum eigenstรคndigen Hรถren eignet sich dieser Soundtrack leider nicht. Als "Bildunterstรผtzung" ergรคnzen die Stรผcke von Mica Levi vortrefflich den beeindruckenden Fiction-Horror-Film "Under The Skin" (mit Scarlett Johannson).

Under the Skin es su primer trabajo, aporta toda la atmรณsfera de misterio y terror a la pelรญcula, cosa que harรก incluso mejor en Jackie.Esta ediciรณn incluye un disco negro que viene en un sobre del mismo color.

Maravillosamente perturbadora
La peli no deja indiferente y la banda sonora de Mica Levi esta a la altura. De una belleza desagradable.

Brilliant
Beautifully unnerving film which is largely due to this beautifully unnerving score. I imagine this music would be powerful on its own but I'll never know, because as soon as I hit play (or drop the needle) the film and the music, for me, are forever intertwined. What I cannot imagine is the film being *this* film with any other music. Brilliant, Mica Levi! Brilliant, Jonathan Glazer! Thank you to all involved. This music and this film are forever in my brain, and for that I am grateful.

Headphone Commute Review
My latest favorite discovery of the year (yes, perhaps of the entire year), is introduced courtesy of Milan Records โ a Los Angeles based label focusing mainly on scores and soundtracks, gracing our ears with the latest from Cliff Martinez, Jรณhann Jรณhannsson, Max Richter and Clint Mansell. By now I pretty much consume everything from this fascinating imprint, and Mica Leviโs soundtrack to Jonathan Glazerโs film Under The Skin is no exception. Or wait, perhaps it is extraordinarily exceptional, as far as film scores go: the OST will make you forget that youโre listening to a soundtrack and take you to a dark and spooky world, where music slowly creeps beneath the surface which separates you from the world.Predominantly acoustic, yet nearly unnoticeably digitally processed, Under The Skin features agitated violas, which could be sampled by Demdike Stare for their next eerie album, disturbing instrument lacerations which could be cherished by the next Joseph Bishara monumental fright score, and menacing minimal percussion which could be used in a bloodcurdling ritual, but thankfully would not. Instead, the chilly dread is wrapped with a slow oncoming fog of suffocating textures, which all come to a climax on my favorite piece of the release, titled โDriftโ. The unnerving atmosphere remains throughout the twelve tracks, depicting the story of an alien in human form, observing the world through extraterrestrial eyes. But never mind the tiny grain of science fiction in the movie โ Iโm thankful for its existence which birthed the music from within.โIโve heard the word โotherworldlyโ used a couple of times to describe the music but that wasnโt a specific instruction from Jonathan Glazer and Peter Raeburn [โฆ] We were looking at the natural sound of an instrument to try and find something identifiably human in it, then slowing things down or changing the pitch of it to make it feel uncomfortable.โI first consumed the soundtrack without having watched the film. By my second listening I have decided that it would be a favorite score. What I did not know at the time is that the movie itself would also become a cherished affair. Through Leviโs uncompromising dismay, I knew that it would frighten and perturb, but the near ambient atmosphere of this suspenseful film, together with the music, would create a cohesive whole that left a fixed imprint upon my fragile mind. Besides, listening to the music prior to the movie has been a favorite past-time of mine โ the familiarity of the sounds creeping into the images enhances the experience on a whole new level.Michaela Levi is a British musician and recording artist, releasing under the project Micachu, most recently collaborating with The Shapes on Never (Rough Trade, 2012) as well a being a member of the M.A.T.H.E.S. collective, comprised of Levi, Marc Pell and Raisa Khan (the latter two are of The Shapes), whom you may know from Basic Space remix on The XX release. Yet, Iโll admit that I have not heard Leviโs solo work, particularly as striking as Under The Skin OST, which was a brand new territory for the British artist, flawlessly executed, if I may add, to my delight.

Masterpiece of film and soundtrack.
If you love abstract horror you gotta see this movie, and the soundtrack is the most horrifying thing I've ever heard.

Easily one of the best scores I've heard in a long, long time, from any genre. Levi's music is both subtle and brutal, with a finessed minimalism. My most listened OST of 2014, by far.
