The back board is rigid & covered on the outside & edges with black velour, as is the fold out stand, which adds to the quality feel. The glass is finished on each corner with a plastic protector, not visible from the outside, something I've never seen before on a photo frame & a nice touch. There's plenty of space within the frame to use a mount (not included) or, as I did, just keep in the cardboard packing piece to hold a photo in place. There are no sharp edges, rough areas or wobbly joints & overall it's a classy item. Even the packaging is good - inside the postal packet the frame was firstly protected in tissue paper, with a foam sheet & bubble wrap bag, all within a smart white card box.
