I spent about four weeks on the preparatory exercises for C major, and then worked on 3-5 exercises per week for the next three weeks, playing each for about 5 minutes per day. It improved my ability to play in the third position with good intonation a great deal. I definitely couldn't have got to that point without this book. In summary: if you are prepared to put in the effort, this no-nonsense, thorough book will get you playing in higher positions with confidence.
