I am obsessed with this book. I know very little about gardening, and yet I know what kind of books work for me! This book has so many helpful resources, especially the fact that the designs help you see the plans you want to use in scale instead of just showing random pictures of plants without a real sense of how big they are or where they would fit in with other plants. I’m so grateful for this author for putting this book together for people like me who need both inspiration and the knowhow for designing a garden or working with somebody who can design the garden for me,

Este libro es muy bueno si vives en California, te da ideas de como acomodar las plantas en tu jardin, sobre todo son plantas que necesitan poca agua. Amazing book if you live in California. Great ideas of how to design your garden. Specially if you don't have a clue of how to arrange plants. Good plants for water conservation.

Good book for ideas and plant placement.

This book helped me immensely in landscaping my front property from a large, water thirsty lawn area to a California native pollinator garden. The book contains beautiful photos of a variety of landscaping ideas and illustrations including plant profiles. Highly recommend.

This book really gives you a lot of good ideas on how to set up your garden and what plants to use. It also tells you what type of shade or full sun it needs and the time of year that they bloom, so in case you want to create your own plant layout, you know which plants will flourish in the different areas of your yard. It also tells you how tall and wide the plants grow. I love all of the colorful pictures. You get an idea of what you should expect as a newbie gardener like me. Love, Love!!

This book is put together just fine. Certainly geared towards the novice. Covers extremely traditional designs - a bit boring for my tastes. If you want your yard to look like any newly landscaped home or business in CA, this should do fine. If you are looking for design ideas that could help you create a unique design keep looking. Best section is the plant references at the end - but again, these are largely the tried and true and very common species.

Great book to help me design my garden. A lot of great ideas. It gives you good examples and the basics so you can be creative. My only set back so far is figuring out all the different type of variants of plants and different names they have makes it a little difficult to find and purchase.

Beautiful book, it was to be a gift but I returned it.

Nice and helpful book with gorgeous designing ideas. Also a good plant reference guide. Hope it works in my mediterran island.
